BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEE- "Ugh!" Maniko scoffed, breaking the alarm with a single smash of his fist. He rubbed his eyes, laying in bed as he contemplated life for a second. 'Too damn early..' He thought, before slowly drifting back off to sleep.
"Maniko, you better be awake! The Chunin Exam's are today!" Hashirama called out from another room.
"Five more minutes..." Maniko pleaded, covering his face with his pillow to block out the light. The first hokage entered the boy's room to make sure he wasn't being tardy like usual.
"Don't you have to register at three o'clock?" Hashirama asked, opening the curtains.
"...yes?"
"It's already passed two o'clock." He added, making Maniko jump out of bed.
"...IT'S WHAT?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?! I'm supposed to meet with my team!" The boy cried, rushing into the bathroom to get ready as Hashirama deadpanned.
'I did tell you... Several times..' The long haired male thought.
After the Hokage's constant insistence on him eating before he leaves, to which he refused, he bid the trio farewell as he left his apartment. "Make sure you look after Maniko Jr for me! Don't feed him too much, or too little!" The tealette called out from behind him, as he was waved off. And soon enough, Maniko managed to make his way to the academy in one piece.
"Maniko! You're late!" Naruto called out, waving his hands to the boy that made his way over.
"Morning guys. Thanks for waiting! You see... I kinda slept through my first alarm and-" Maniko started.
"Forget that! Aren't you excited, Maniko?! Our first ever Chunin Exams!" Naruto cheered excitedly, pulling the tealette into a back breaking hug, which earned the blond some spiteful looks from his other two teammates.
"....Can't.. Breath..." Maniko gasped for air at the tightness of the hug, oblivious to the daggers Sakura glared at the back of Naruto's head. Sasuke didn't seem too pleased either.
"Sorry! Well... It's been like ages, y'know? I haven't seen you in so long!" Naruto complained, eventually loosening his grip when he realised he was practically killing the other boy.
"It's... Its been five days Naruto.." Maniko deadpanned, as he attempted to catch his breath.
"Exactly!" Naruto confirmed. "Way too long!"
Maniko sweatdropped at the clingy boy, before looking over to his other teammates. "So, are you guys ready to become Chunin?!" He asked, determinedly.
Sakura smiled at the boy's confidence, and Sasuke smirked slightly. "That's the spirit, Maniko! Let's do this!" Naruto cheered, leading the way into the academy as they wondered to room 301.
