Sasuke and Maniko had just returned, and stood side by side as they eyed down his questionable position. It seemed almost as if Kabuto's hand was preventing Sakura and Naruto from doing something utterly stupid.
Though what harm could have been done, when they were only gone for the matter of minutes?
"I can't believe you guys!" Sasuke scolded like an angry mother. The blond and the pinkette lowered their heads in shame, refusing to glance up at the disappointment in Maniko's eyes.
"If you guys had opened that scroll, all of that hard work would have been for what..?!" Maniko frowned.
"If I hadn't come along when I did.." Kabuto hinted, a smile spread on his face that seemed a little too innocent.
"There have been people who've broken the rules and tried to peek at scrolls. I've seen what happens to them.." Kabuto started. "They're protected by a powerful hypnosis Jutsu. Almost like a trap for anyone unwise enough to try and read them. It'll knock you senseless and by the time you wake up, the exam is already over.." He explained, scroll in hand.
"Kabuto, right..? We've already met at the registration." Sasuke stated. "What are you doing wondering around all by yourself..?" He asked, skeptically.
"Don't worry.. I'm not after your earth scroll." The grey haired boy assured, already knowing exactly what Sasuke was suspicious of.
'I don't think he's lying, Sasuke. If he was after our scroll, he would've taken it from Naruto when he had the chance.' Maniko thought, earning a subtle nod from the Uchiha.
"So then, you must be looking for a Heaven scroll too.. Right?" The Uchiha assumed.
"Not really." Kabuto admitted, rummaging through his pockets before pulling out another scroll. "You see, I already have them both. So, if you'll excuse me.." He trailed off, turning his back to walk away.
