Chapter 18

Paramedic- in the helicopter
The two girls, I'm afraid to say will be incredibly lucky if they survive. They both have a serious case of hypothermia. Chloe has quite a few broken bones and there must be a story to Lucy's leg. Chloe's heart beat is only just there, beating slowly. Occasionally I have to make sure it's still beating. Lucy's heart beat is a bit better but still not great. All of my fingers are crossed for them.
4 am*****
Something is going wrong. Chloe's heart has basically stopped. I grab the defibrillator of the wall and try to restart her heart. I don't think she'll make it. We need to resuscitate her. She's stopped breathing. The other nurses and doctors stand by. I put my mouth on hers and try to breath some air into her lungs. It's not working. I pump on her chest the way I was taught. All of a sudden a tiny beep comes onto the machine. Thank god. Her heart is beating, slowly but surely. We hooked her up to a breathing machine just incase she stops again. I sit back reassured for a little bit.
*************************A while later***************************
We fly into the hospital at 10pm the next night. Back in Australia, the girls are finally home for the first time in about a month. The stretchers are prepared and the emergency crew rush over as we land. The girls are hurried off. I'm praying so hard for them.

Tyler- Lucy's brother
I can't believe it. Chloe and Lucy have finally come back and I'm not allowed to go see them. Mum and Dad made me stay here, at Grandmas. I don't think they are well though. Grandma said that they have to go to hospital. I hope they're ok.

Aidan- Chloe's dad
As soon as we heard Chloe had arrived at the hospital I ran to the car, yelled out to Jacki and we drove there. I'm not going to lie, but I think we broke the speed limit a few times.
I go up to the reception desk and ask what room the Chloe Jensen was in. "I'm sorry Mr Jensen but the girls have to be operated on straight away. They are both in a critical condition." I go over and tell Sandra (A/N Chloe's Mum) who is pacing the waiting room.
"She'll be okay, I promise. " I said, I didn't want to stress her out more than she was already. Jacki and Adam walk in, Lucy's parents come in. They come and sit next to us and we embrace them with a hug. I hope everything is ok.
Surgeon
I'm given Chloe to operate on, her case is quite serious. She has been x-rayed and reported a few broken ribs which are putting pressure on her lungs. She can't breath properly. I wheel her into the operating room as the other doctors and nurses put their masks on. We heard from the detectives on scene, and apparently Chloe was crushed by something. The bones in her hand are completely broken and her left leg and foot is shattered. We need to get operating right away.
