Lucy
Waking up in a city I've never explored, hearing the sounds of a busy early morning makes me relax, I lie back in bed and listen. It is all so amazing, I hear the trams, trains, buses and the noise of the city right outside of my window. I still am quite shocked; Africa! I want to start exploring straight away so I get up and get dressed. I choose some dark blue jeans, a light blue t'shirt and my brown boots. I feel ready for anything! Out in the kitchen Chloe is cooking, she us the cook out of us! Once I tried cooking mum breakfast in bed and i burnt the egg to smithereens! "Chloe, I just remembered, we need to Skype our parents!" I call out to Chloe as I remember our promise.
I log into Skype and see that Mum and Dad are online. I call them.
"Mum, Dad! I'm missing you but it's so awesome over here!" I say
"Darling, how is it, are you okay, how was the flight?" They bombard me with questions and Chloe comes in.
"We are all good Jackie and Adam!" Chloe reassures them while I fix the camera up.
"What are you going to do today?" Dad asks eagerly.
"We haven't completely decided but we are going on a Safari tour. I looked up reviews online and it looks awesome!" I exclaim.
"Well we better leave you two to it. We are going out with Chloe's parents. I'll let them know how you have arrived safe and sound. " Mum replies.
"Okay, thanks Mum, see ya Dad!"
I log off smiling. Africa here we come!

Chloe
I start packing a backpack ready for our Safari tour. I call out to Lucy "Are you taking a jumper? It's really warm but I'm not sure. "
"Yeah I am, there might be a change in weather, like back in Melbourne!"
I laugh, Melbourne weather is never predictable.
We meet the taxi at the front door and soon arrive at Neggle Safari Tours. The Jeep is empty so I go and check with the tour guide whether the tour is actually running today. "Yeah it sure is, but you two girls are lucky, you are the only customers. Today is our quiet day." I smile at Lucy, this will be a once in a lifetime experience.
We get into the jeep and head of. The driver, Joe, quietly whispers..."Look, a lion. "
We stare over to our left is a huge lion, fur yellowy, orange like the sun in the morning. It's mane is huge, red almost. It is actually a massive beast. "How much do you think it would weigh?" Joe asks.
"100kilos?" I guess.
"They range from around 120kg to 190kg. This one looks especially big though, I'd say around 170 kilos. "
We stare in awe. The lion yawns and I take a photo. It's jaws snap shut and I imagine Tyler, he would love this. I start feeling homesick and Lucy cheers me up.
"Hey Chloe and Joe listen to this." Lucy prepares her joke.
"Two lions went into a pub and after ordering two beers, took some sandwiches out of their pockets and started to eat them. "You can't eat your own sandwiches in here," complained the pub owner. So the two lions swapped their sandwiches." Lucy finishes with a laugh.
"I've heard many lion jokes before Lucy but not that one!" Joe laughs. I join in.
"Hey guys look!" I whisper, the lion is getting up and walking over. Joe is looking scared. "Is everything okay?" I ask.
"Well in my training group I was told if a lion walks up to you, stay very still, if you move..." Joe gulps. We all stay still and watch. The lion slowly approaches us, it comes around to the back of the Jeep. I am sitting about 30cm away from its nose. I hold my breath....
