Lucy
A few nurses and doctors come in, once they realise I'm awake. It's all a bit hectic for me as I've just woken up, I still don't really know how I got here and I'm worried about Chloe and Juki. I try to sit up but a stiff thing on my leg stops me and I remember, my leg is broken. A doctor with a name tag reading Kaitlin starts taking my temperature, sticking the thermometer in my mouth. "Foo you fo fhere..." The doctor stops me talking.
"Shhhh, just wait a minute I'll just finish this. " She looks at the thermometer and writes down the reading on a piece of card in her hand.
"Do you know where my friends are?" I ask.
"Well there's a bit of explaining to do." She says as a lady and my mum come into the room.
"I'm ready. " I say, taking a deep breath.
I spy the name tag on the lady who has just waked in, her name is Lorinda and....I peer closer, she's a c....ou...n..cillor.
After a bit of adjusting to my bed, Kaitlin helps me sit up and everything starts to make sense. My memory is refreshed as I hear the story.
"You won a writing competition at school, remember?" Mum says
I nod truthfully, I remember that much. I had spoken about world peace.
"Your prize was to take a friend to Africa and you chose Chloe. You flew over and stayed at an apartment in Johannesburg. " Mum pauses to take a breath. A smile spreads across my face as I remember our journey going to Africa, we were both so excited. When we got of the plane a man had accidentally taken my suitcase!
"You Skyped us the next day, saying you were going on a safari. That was the last we heard. " Mum starts tearing up, typical. I take a breath but stop as I suddenly remember something. "Joe." Mum looks up startled. Lorinda, the councillor scribbles on a notepad
"Our tour guide was named Joe, she was really nice. " I stop again, not up to all this story telling.
I try reaching over to grab a drink but a pain, I cannot describe shoots up my leg. I gasp. Kaitlin rushes over, holding my hand. "Whats wrong? She says, her face creased in worry. "Nothing, I'm fine. " I say quietly, I'm lying, I know, but maybe if I forget the pain, everything will go back to normal.
"It's very important you tell us what's wrong Lucy. " she says sternly.
"My leg." As I say this there is more pain and I shout out. "Aaaaaaaa." I reach down to grab my leg but a strong doctor runs in. He holds me down firmly. "Lie down Lucy." I do as he says, willing to do anything so this pain goes away. I look up and Mums worried face stares back at me. She holds my hand, gently squeezing. "It'll be okay. " She kisses my head and walks out. Where'd she go? "Sorry Lucy, no visitors allowed in right now. " Kaitlin says, answering my thoughts. The doctor who came in before comes over and places a mask over my mouth. Deep breaths Lucy. I do as he says breathing in the strawberry scented air in the mask. Soon my eyes become heavy and I fall deeply asleep. "She didn't tell us what happened to Joe. Could she be the dead lady the police found?" Kaitlin says.

Surgeon White's POV
Lucy has just fallen asleep so we need to operate right way. She was experiencing huge pains in her leg and we think there is something wrong. "Ready to proceed operation." I warn everyone to get ready.
10 minutes later I'm operating, the X-ray showed up and a bone in her leg was growing back the wrong way in the plaster. We need to put pins in place, if we don't, Lucy might not be able to walk again.
