I clicked my feet on my board and stood tall, hands on my hips looking up at him.
He was staring at me. Blinking and taking a step closer, he placed a hand on my waist, shocking me. Even through the thickness of my jacket, I felt the pressure of his...
There's this phenomenon that states whenever good things happened, something bad must always follow.
I never used to believe in it because when I was younger bad things happened so often that it didn't seem there was much room for good.
But now I understood the idea.
This moment was an intersection of our lives, where we would divide moments as things that happened "before this" or "after this".
And the first thought that entered my mind for some reason was that she was prettier than the person I had imagined in my mind.
The second one was how much she looked like Lilo. It was basically like she had the baby without Nathan's participation at all. Brown skin, brown eyes, full brows and cheeks, soft curls.

Lealani had always been a figment of my imagination, an idea hidden within the crevices of my mind. And now she was standing in front of us, fully real and alive.
I looked at Nathan and found him dumbstruck, with eyes staring. He was breathing heavily, his jaw clenched with emotion.
"W-What are you doing here?" His voice sounded so unfamiliar.
She shifted uncomfortably, swallowing. "I just want to talk." Her eyes blinked as she kept her gaze on him, looking surprised. "I didn't think I'd ever see you again."
It was like they were in their own world and I wasn't even there. The tension was high and palpable, making me tense.

"Bowie," I answered politely. Gosh, this was awkward.
"You've got some nerve, showing up here," Nathan seethed.
"I know," She held her hands up and took a step forward. "You have every right to hate me for all of it. I just...we need to talk about—"
"About what?!" He yelled. "Don't you fucking say her name." My eyes widened as I looked at Nathan. His whole body was strained as he stared down at her, his brows pinched. "You don't get to come up here and ask about her or see her. You lost that privilege a long time ago."
"Nathan," She whispered pleadingly. Nathan shook his head and breathed out a shaky breath, looking pale and forlorn. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. It just happened so soon and then you were gone and I couldn't find you and—" She was speaking so fast and frantically, moving towards him.
"Stop," he whispered under his breath. "You're the one who wanted to end things."
"—I didn't know what to do and you know I was never meant to be a mom at the time. I was a fucking mess." She breathed, her breath coming short. "I have waited for so long....so long for you to come back. I always pass by this place hoping you'd show up again so that we can talk. I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. Please can we just—"
