Chapter 3
The sun was warmer in the Southern Recreation Area than in any other place in the Empire.
Wide, blue fields, grass swaying in the wind, and beautiful flowers of every color.
On the balcony of his villa, Marquis Lavirins sipped a cup of hot tea while admiring the peaceful scenery.
It had been only two months since he went down south to travel. It was time to return to the capital.
"Tsk."
Thinking of the mansion in the capital, he pictured Ciella there. In no time at all, her face turned discontented, and then he clucked his little tongue out.
She used to listen to everything he said even though she was frustrated in some aspects, but one day, perhaps coming to puberty late, she began to gradually cross paths with him.
He then declared her completely derailed.
"I'm going to break up my engagement with Duval."
'Wicked thing.'
A engagement breakup, absolutely not.
The Lavirins that had fallen down had come up so far, and now they couldn't go against Essit.
'I'll set a date for the wedding as soon as I get back.'
He was angry when he thought about Ciella, who said she could never marry someone who cheated on her.
Still, since she was the only direct descendant of Lavirins, he was going to make sure that she could do whatever she wanted during the marriage.
Singing a song about breaking off the engagement, it seemed easier to let them get married sooner rather than later.
And it seemed that Essit was hoping that Ciella would come in as soon as possible.
'Duval is a great son-in-law.'
There were some scandals, but he had a tall and good character. His personality was about as good as it got, and he had no horns anywhere.
The only thing that would fix that would be seeing other women would be a stable home and some cute kids.
When it came to children, he thought of his grandchildren, who would be cute, just like Ciella.
'Ciella's first child will inherit Lavirins' abilities.'
For this reason, the Marquis had obtained the consent of Count Essit in advance. That Ciella's eldest child would be brought to the Lavirins unconditionally.
The Marquis planned to enroll the child brought in that way as Gerald's adopted son who would inherit the Lavirins, although he was adopted.
Then the abilities of the Lavirins would be handed down to future generations without a problem.
And his financial power would be further strengthened by his union with Essit.
He was naturally satisfied with his future plan, which did not contain even the slightest error. Marquis Lavirins drank tea with a satisfied face.
"Would you like some more tea?"
Isabella, Gerald's biological mother, the woman that the Marquis remarried, approached with a teapot.
The Marquis happily received the kindness because the tea had just fallen.
He shared the plan he had just made.
"Oh, my."
Joy filled both of Isabella's eyes.
This was not an emotion that came from the fact that Ciella was getting married. It was the joy that came from the fact that her own son Gerald would be the heir.
