Chapter-6(Operation: Avoiding the Crown Prince)

My mother was preparing to go to the imperial palace. She also asked me to come. I refused saying that I am tired she was worried about me. She wanted to postpone the meeting but Maria told mom that it is not good and comes under disrespecting  the empress so, I told my mom to leave saying that I would be fine after resting. Then she left to go to  the palace before kissing me on my cheek saying" take care".

I escaped my meeting with the crown. prince as I was partying I saw the climatic changes soon it started raining heavily. My father came to my room and took me to his study I sat on his lap while he is doing his work. I felt bored keeping my face on my father's chest I heard his heartbeat it is so soothing to hear. I felt warm and soon fell asleep.

" Baby wake up it's time for dinner". I heard my father's voice.

I woke up only to see that it's already night. Then Maria took me to fresh up and then went to the dinning table. I only saw my dad there I couldn't see my mother. " Dad where is my mom???"

" It is raining heavily so she is going to stay the night in the palace"

'what ???? god !!! I hate rains. I know it's normal for my mom to stay there as she often stays there when conditions are not favorable like today. This is my first meal I am eating without my mom after coming here suddenly I don't feel like eating '

As if sensing my change in mood my father took me in his lap and fed me.
I slept in  my parent's room with my father keeping my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat and him patting me.

In the morning while we are having breakfast " I am going to the imperial palace would you like to come with me???" Ashed my dad.

I know my father is worried about me staying alone in the Duke Mansion and also it looks like it's going to rain as it is rainy season. Even though I am reluctant I agreed to go with him.

"Okay dad"

Then Maria dressed me in a light blue frock. I look really good. Then me and my father both started on our journey to the palace.

The journey was smooth. The carriage was really comfortable. Soon we reached the palace. My father's face became expressionless, of course he is the Duke Wilson and the best swordman in the empire no one can bear him. He is also the incharge of the imperial knights. No one has ever seen him smiling as he only smiles at me, my mother and a few selected people. Then I got out of the carriage with my father's help and then he started walking carrying me towards the palace.

The knights bowed to my father and we made our way to the empress palace.

" It is the Duke right"

"Yes he might have personally come to pick his wife. He loves his wife so much."

" Of course what do you expect, only she and his daughter can make him smile."

"Is she the daughter of the Duke she looks exactly like him. She is really beautiful."

"Yes she is even more beautiful than her mother"

"Now I understood why the Duke has never taken his daughter to any festivals or occasions."

I couldn't hear what the knights and miads murmering among themselves but can see them murmering something. I didn't pay much attention.

We came to the destination and we could see my mom and a lady with red hair and hazel talking to my mother. Though she is very beautiful she is little pale. She is Alisha Hilton the empress.

The arrival of me and my father is announced we entered the longue beside the garden. Then my father put me down and held my hand

My father paid his respects first to the empress.
"Glory to the Moon of the Empire"
I copied his action and said

"Glory to the Moon of the Empire" holding my shirt and bowing a little.
 
"There is no need for such greetings Lucas but  I don't mind if I get such a cute greeting from her."

" Greetings to the Duke Wilson and his princess." said the empress. My dad just kept a calm but you could find a light smile. If you observe clearly.

My mom is watching everything with a smile on her face. Then she came to me and hugged me.

"You have to come pick me up my dear.i am so touched." Said my mom

Before I could say anything a knight came and announced that the emperor was asking for my dad's presence.

At the mention of the smile on the empress face left, my father's face went stiff, my mo m has a worried expression on his face.

" Then I will be back". Saying this my father left with the knight.

Then the empress saw me and beckoned me come clos to her. I looked at my mom she nodded . Then I made my way to her . She took me in her lap. Started caressing my face.

"She is very beautiful. She looks really cute. I want you to keep your promise Elena" said the empress.

"Of course she is, as for the promise let's talk about it later "

"I don't think I will have time to discuss it latter" said the empress.

"What do you mean?????" Said my mother .

"Lina I planted some new flowers in the garden would you like to have a look??" Asked the Alisha.

' I know she wants a private conversation with my mother and wanted me to leave.'
So ,I nodded my head and went towards the garden to let the elders have a peaceful talk.

I can avoid the crown prince because he will be having his classes now so I don't have to worry about him, but l feel like I am missing something. Keeping this
I entered the garden only to see variety of flowers. This is the imperial palace what do you expect. Then I saw a group of butterflies 🦋🦋🦋 . I made my towards them and entered deep into the garden. I saw roses arranged in rows according to their colours.

I followed the butterflies they are surrounding me they took me near the roses there I found the golden feather and they just flew away. I took the feather in my hand and examined it . It looked the same as the one in my last life. Then a butterfly came towards me. I stretched my hand to touch a butterfly the butterfly landed on my hand. I looked around around and helped it to land on a red rose 🌹🌹.

"Do you like them" a voice sounded behind me . I was startled

I turned around only to find the most beautiful man looking at me with a blank face. He has shiny black hair contrast to his fair skin. He has grey eyes staring at my green one's. He is wearing a black tunic which is long sleeved and brown pants. He looks dashing with a sword in his hand which explains that he just completed his training and came to the garden to rest.

"If you like them you can take them" he said in an emotionless voice which almost gave me goosebumps.

I looked at him speechless because he is the one who I have been hiding from. The prime reason of my death.

My face paled, my eyes widened looking at him I instinctively took a step backward almost fell on the rose bush.
. I palms are cold with sweat.

'God he is here. It's not even a week after my rebirth I have to face him,
my death'

'Mom , dad where are you save your only daughter. If anything happens to transfer my inheritance to any orphanage. Take good care of yourselves. Even though it's only a week I love you' okay dramatic much.

' what should I do should I run away but he will catch me by taking just two steps'  I was making my escape plans.

He frowned at my reaction.
That frown increased my anxiety.
God please save me I don't want to die again.
