Chapter-15 (Her Death)

It's been 28 days since that day I visited her daily. I even tried to have a talk with Alexander but it looks like he is avoiding me and the problem is I don't know why???. Then may be he needs sometime for himself in digesting the facts. So I didn't disturb him.

Today here I am with Alisha and she is complaining about the bitter medicine to her mother but one glare from her father made her drink the medicine. They really love her so much. General Ezrif though looks strong I know how devastating it is for him to see his daughter taking steps to the death bed.
I don't exactly know when she is going to die in the story. I know he is blaming himself for leaving her alone all these years though he kept a record on her whereabouts he feels like he failed her.
General Ezrif left after making sure that she is fine as he having a meeting. It was only me and Alisha in the room. I was sitting beside Alisha on her bed. She suddenly took me in her arms and hugged me.

" Lina I don't know what might happen in future but never leave Alexander alone. I know my son is not good at expressing things but don't leave his hand. Trust me Lina I have a gut feeling that you both are made for each other and nothing can happen to you as long as you both are together. Stay by his side Lina trust him and guide him. He is my son I was the one who raised him he will never leave the hand of the person who stands by him. I know your cute little brain may not understand this now but remember my words you are his strength Lina never let go of each other. Don't give place for a third person. Be careful Lina take good care of yourself. Don't pressure yourself in understanding what I just told you just remember my words you will understand them in future." This is what she said. I am not Lina a 5 year old girl but I still can't understand what she meant let's think about it some other time. Later we talked about a lot of things soon this slipped from my mind.

That day I stayed with her till evening and left. I don't why suddenly l have a bad feeling.

The next day when Maria came inside to dress me up she started dressing me up in black dress. I exactly understood what it means.

" Maria did something happen to aunt Alisha???" I asked her.
She didn't say anything she just nodded with tears in my eyes.

My eyes started to pool with tears I went downstairs only to see my father trying to calm down my mother as she is crying in his arms. Soon we all went to the palace. I looked at the unclosed coffin only to find her in it. It looked like she was sleeping but I know it is a sleep where she never wakes up. I saw her general Ezrif trying to look strong controlling his wife whose eyes are swollen due to crying. Blair and his wife are also silently shedding tears. The emperor looked a little sad and I can't find Belinda or her son maybe she is celebrating Alisha's death somewhere.

My eyes started searching for Alexander only to find him in the corner he was sitting in the corner looking at his mother his face was devoid of any emotions but his glossy eyes telling a different story. For once he has never taken his eyes off his mother's coffin. He looks like a statue if not for his breathing. I know how it feels to be lonely. Later I was sent to a guest room as childern are not allowed to look at the process of burying. Here I am in the guest room with Maria. Alexander stayed there stubbornly and followed them to the burial ground.

The royals have a separate burial place so aunt Alisha is probably taken there for her burial. I just remembered something from the story. Aunt Alisha wanted someone to bury her urn near the tree she planted and she tells this to Alexander in the story and he does it according to her wish but Belinda who hated Alisha burned the tree which she planted. That tree is what Alexander is left with as his mother's last memory but Belinda just cruelly snatches it from it. I have to stop this. I just hope for her soul to rest in peace.

In the Burial Ground

After her burial General Ezrif and his wife Bonnie, Blair and his wife Naira, Lucius, Elena, Alexander, the emperor and a group of priests are praying for her soul to rest in piece. After completing the whole process the priests left the place.

When the emperor was about to leave he was stopped by Bonnie's call.

" Now are you happy??" Asked Bonnie.

" What are you talking about Mrs Hilton and the way you are speaking is disrespectful " said the emperor.

" I am not talking to an emperor or as the wife of a General. I am a mother and I am talking to the scumbag who has caused the death of her daughter. I know that this is going to happen that is why her father and I never wanted her to marry a scum like you. Do you think my daughter married you because of your position or your looks ??? The answer is a big No !!!! because my husband and her brother have always treated her like a princess she is . She is even treated better than your sister who is an actual princess and as for your looks there are many better looking men who wanted to marry my daughter isn't that why you married her in such a hurry. You didn't even give her a proper wedding cause you are afraid that she will be snatched from you but did my daughter ever blame you for not giving a proper wedding to her??? No !! Right, she always understood you stood by your side. She has given her support and her love to you but in return what did you give her is a betrayal. She for the first time went against our words only for you she loved you for who you not because you are the emperor. You know very well that she doesn't know that you are the crown prince when you approached her. She accepted you for what you are she believed in you, she trusted you. She held faith in your love for her and the promise you have given to her. She left all of us for you but what did you do??? You left her just like that after fullfilling your lust. You have broken her heart when you have broken the promise you made to her. She almost had a miscarriage when she found you cheating on her. Her body has become weak because of the emotional distress she has gone through because of you. Your betrayal has broken her to core that it effected her health severely. Have you ever cared for her health, No !!! you just left her heartbroken, alone to fight with her illness. Okay leave all this have you ever cared for your own son??? Answer me" she shouted but no one tried to stop her because what she said is true. It is the grief of a mother who has just lost her daughter. The emperor was speechless as deep down he also knows that what she is saying was true.

" No you never ever cared about him. All you care is about is yourself. God has written a diamond in your fate you just threw it away thinking that it is a stone. Do you know how much it pains to see the death of your own daughter before yours . It kills to see death of your child before yours. It is the biggest pain that a parent can undergo. My daughter is just 29 years old and she didn't even see the world completely. What sin did she commit to die so early???. The only sin she has ever committed is falling for a person like you. The pain you made my daughter and family undergo will never leave you. You will feel the same pain you will also die lonely. You will have a miserable death this the curse of a mother who has lost her daughter. You will regret your decision of cheating on my daughter mark my words. You will regret breaking her heart, her trust and the promise you made. When you will regret it there will be no redemption." saying this she turned to her husband and son and said" let's go" .

She took Alexander's hand and everyone left leaving the emperor alone. The emperor knows that what he had done with her is wrong but his ego never let him to accept his mistake. He just stayed there looking at Alisha's grave. The memories which he has shared with her started resurfacing. Yes, the only person who loves him truly left him. He felt guilty but soon his face changed when he thought of how Bonnie insulted him infront of everyone. He just left the place in anger.
