Chapter-21(The ceremony)

Lina's POV

It' has been 2 months since that garden incident and I became good friends with him. He is very easy to get along with and he is very understanding. It's only been a month but I feel like I have known him many years back. These days he is smiling more often which is an improvement from his side. He looks better when he smiles than with his usual cold face. Of course he smiles only when we are alone like he never wants anyone to know that he could smile except me. After the garden accident Belinda didn't do anything out of the line. She is a way too calm which is suspicious.

It was peaceful until I received the invitation from the imperial palace. This ceremony is for making Belinda the official empress. So this is what she is doing these 2 months. This sunday the ceremony takes place in the imperial palace. Today is Wednesday, in 3 days she is going to be the empress. If this happens then Alex's life is going to the same as it is in the novel. The power of the empress seat should not be misused. If Belinda becomes the empress she will definitely use this power to abuse Alex. I took the invitation card and went to my father.

My father in the study so I knocked on the door. After getting the permission of my father I went in. My father was doing some work seeing me he gestured me come to him. He took me on his lap then asked me "Baby what happened???"

I just showed him the invitation.
" If you don't want to go to then it's okay baby no one will dare to question you " he said.

" I know dad" I said.

" Then what is the problem my dear. Tell your dad he will try his level best to solve it." He said.

'I know he will do anything for me but can he stop Belinda from becoming the empress. This may not be in his hands. Am I causing trouble to him by involving in these things. Can I ask him to stop this ceremony from happening. I can't involve him in all these things. It's better to keep my mouth shut. What was I even thinking before rushing here.'

As if reading my thoughts he said " you can ask me anything baby. You can never cause trouble to dad." This made me feel warm.

" She doesn't deserve to be an empress dad. I was just upset listening to it." I said.

" That's it "

" Yes "

" Ok then , maybe she will not be the empress. Who knows what happens in the future. So all this while you are struggling to say this." He said. I looked at him shocked and nodded.

' how can I tell him that I know what happens in the future. Why do I feel like there is something hidden in his words. Looks like my business brain is very active today.'

He smiled at me and patted my head.

" Never hesitate to say anything to your dad. Ever if the whole world is against you remember that your father is always with you. He can fight against the whole world for you." He said this literally made my eyes tear in emotion. In my last life I have always longed for love from my parents. I did everything in my power to attract their attention. I tried to excel in whatever I do just for their appreciation which I have never got till the end. The love which he is showing sometimes makes me feel guilty as I am not his actual daughter - Lina. Sometimes I feel like I am cheating him but at the same time I am greedy for the love and warmth that he provides. Lina is really lucky to have such parents ,I envy her.

I came back to my room thinking what can I do to stop this ceremony but my brain is blank. Later in the evening I went to the garden to meet Alexander.
I was waiting for him sitting under the tree. This is our regular meeting place.
I saw Alexander making his way here and sat next to me. I took the invitation card and showed it to him.
