Everyone in the hall were shocked at the turn of the events. Each one has different thoughts and about what just happened.

It's not only just Lina this came as a shock to everyone in the hall. It took time for Lina to register what actually happened. This is something she didn't expect. This did not happen in the novel. In the novel Alisha's marriage contract was never mentioned and Alexander's grandfather never attended the event, let alone making their engagement announcement. Lina didn't want anyone to know about their engagement but thanks to Mr Harold now the whole empire knows about this.

On the other side Belinda tried her best to maintain her expression but failed very badly. If you look carefully at her hands you can see that she closed her fist so tightly that her nails digging in her flesh. Her gaze turned vicious when she looked at Alexander. Soon her attention changed from Alexander to Lina. This is her first time seeing the Lucius's daughter as he is very protective of her never let Lina out of the Duke Mansion. Well she must say that she is very beautiful but too bad she is for Alexander and not for her son.

Belinda is not only the one who is trying hard to keep a pleasant expression on her face but the emperor too. He felt like he got an invisible slap from his father. He feels humiliated. Today he wanted Belinda as the empress and his son John as the crown prince. He never had any affection for Alexander and never wanted to announce him as the crown prince but everything changed in a fraction of second because of his father. . He knows he can't go against his father so he tries hard to maintain a pleasant expression.

Lucas has an displeased expression on his face and he didn't even bother to conceal it. While Elena has a wide smile on her face more like she couldn't stop smiling. Elena while coming here she thought that today is going to be one of the worst days in her life but it turned out to be the best day. Well the only regret is if she had known earlier she would have dressed up in a bright dress unlike the simple outfit she was wearing. It's not just Elena who is ecstatic but Alexander also was very happy about this.

After making the announcement an attendant came and informed something to Harold. Then he glanced in a particular direction and made his there.

Harold made his way towards the courtyard. In the courtyard stands a man in a black robe. He is wearing a mask which covers most of his face except his eyes. He has a chestnut brown hair, blue eyes and looks like a man in his late thirties. When Harold saw him he made his way towards him.

" I heard that you have made my granddaughter's marriage announcement. Is it true??" The man in the black robe asked.

"  Yes, you did hear it right. You should come inside, the banquet is going to start soon." he said to that person.

" Are you inviting me to my own granddaughter's banquet???? Why am I not informed about it??? " He asked in a calm tone but one can sense the anger laced in it.

That was when Lucius came to the courtyard searching for Harold, there he sees him talking to someone. He then saw the golden dragon symbol on the his black robe and understood the identity of the person.

He is Elena's father, Benjamin Gibson. He is a Marquees and is one of the most powerful man in the empire and a friend of the Emperor. He has many businesses. He is the one who keeps the underworld in check. He is the head of the underworld group golden dragon and works for Harold.Though he is a noble he usually doesn't appear in these types of ceremonies or banquets. He stays away from his family because he is afraid that his hidden identity may cause harm to his family. Though he is away he has his ways to know about their whereabouts. Only a few people knew about his hidden identity.
