Chapter-13(Her deteriorating health)

I came out of my and was going to bump into someone and to my greatest luck he is our male lead Alexander. Not the sarcasm.

' A great way to start the day'

"Greetings to your highness" I said.

"Good morning Lina" he said in his usual cold tone.

'how can I call it good with your entry???'

" Thank you ,your majesty" I said

He raised an eyebrow like asking what for

" For yesterday " I said because he helped a little with my Astraphobia. I am not a thankless person and I don't want to owe him anything.

He just nodded in understanding and we made our way to the dining hall together.
After having breakfast he went with my father for his training and I went back to my room.

Days passed by and I tried my best to avoid Alexander. It worked sometimes even if we meet we don't much cause our male lead is not much of a talker and I don't talk much in his presence. So it's bearable for me. What worries me the most is aunt Alisha's health it's deteriorating and the date of her death is approaching. It's only one month left in her hands to live.

I am feeling very sad. Yesterday I visited her she looks so pale and lean she is even having difficulty walking. She got close to me in a very short time and the thought of her death didn't sit well with me.

A week later

Today I heard that aunt Alisha fainted me and my mom are heading to the palace. I know she is going to die in three weeks but what hurts the most is I can't do anything to help her. It's making me feel guilty.

We soon reached the palace and we made our way towards her room as soon as we entered we saw General Ezrif( Alisha's father) and Bonnie( her mother)and Blair(Alisha's brother) and his wife Naira(Blair's wife) there. General Ezrif and his wife Bonnie were sitting at the end of the bed beside Alisha who was laying on the bed. Blair and Naira were standing a little away.

She looks very pale as her rosy cheeks and lips lost their colour and has lost her complexion. She looks very weak and has lost a lot of weight. My heart felt heavy seeing her like this.

As soon as they saw us they welcomed us. My mom ran to her friend and aunt Alisha beckoned me to come near her.
I went near her seeing her like this made it difficult for me to shed tears.

"How are you Lina??" She asked me with a smile on her face. She tried to sit up and my mom helped her and General Ezrif helped her with the pillow so that she sits comfortably.

I just went near her and nodded. I can't ask her the same as I can see how well she is so I just stood there trying to control my tears. She is really a pure soul. It's really unfair for her. I really hate the author.

"Why are you so dull Lina??" She asked for caressing my cheek. I just looked at her.

" I am fine Lina don't worry about me, nothing will happen to me. I will be fine in a few days" she said. If she told this to anyone they might believe her but I know what is going to happen and the end of everyone in this room, including myself.

" Come on baby show me that pretty smile of yours" she said. I tried but couldn't smile. A tear slipped from my eyes as I couldn't hold it anymore. She gently wiped it and kissed my forehead.

We heard the sound of footsteps and we looked towards the door only to see Alexander running and his usually cold face held a little worried expression on his face. Then he saw his mother and went near her. He just stood beside me and was observing her.

" Is my little Alex worried about me??"she asked him. He didn't respond and looked at her but didn't respond.

I know though he looks expressionless Alexander loves his mother a lot. He is never good with expressing his love and affection. He knows how his mother has gone through because of his father. That is the reason for his hatred towards his father. He didn't acknowledge his feelings towards our female lead Cassie because he didn't want to cheat on Lina. He hates cheating, lies and fake promises so it has been a big blow to him when he got to know that Cassie is a spy.

The author didn't give a reason why Alexander sheds tears on Lina's death. Maybe he saw a shadow of his mother in her that is the only reason that I could come up with when I was reading the story.

Both Lina and Alisha have a lot of similarities. I must say that Lina also loves Alexander truly just like how Alisha loves the emperor. The only difference is Alexander didn't cheat on her. I feel really sorry for both Alisha and Lina.

I feel sorry for Alexander too because he lost his childhood after the death of his mother. He is sent to the war at an early age .He lost his true well-wisher Lina. His love journey was not smooth. Cassie falls in love the second male lead Noah later after that issue. She is even pregnant with his child. He has a really big heart to accept someone's child as his this shows how much he loved Cassie. This character Alexander ,was famous for his selfless love for Cassie and has a lot of fans.

"Don't worry Alex. I will be fine" she said with a smile
