Meredith
MY BACK SLAMS against the locked bedroom door. The room filled with heavy breathing, moans and groans from Daryl and I. It's been two days since I last talked to Deanna, since I first reunited with Dad. Daryl and I have been distant a little bit since then. It wasn't that we chose to, it was more because were always doing our own thing. I finally met Pete, did some work, familiarized my surroundings in the infirmary. Daryl had been out hunting by himself.
I remember Deanna saying how she hadn't given Daryl a job yet, that she wasn't sure what to give him just yet. But the idea soon came to my mind when I realized what Aaron does. He recruits people. Goes out looking for people to see if their fit enough to bring home. Aaron spends most of his time out there. Spends the latest two days being out there. I finally had the time and talked to him, hoped that he'd talked to Deanna about being the next recruiter. It's smart. Daryl spends his time out there, hunts, can tell the difference between good people and bad people, he'll be good with recruiting people. Aaron took my advice and said he'd take it to Deanna. Now, we're waiting to see if it'll happen or not.
The rocking and banging of the bed comes to a stop. I let out a sigh and roll off of Daryl, falling to my side. We lied on the bed, breathing heavily, catching up with our breaths.
"I'm thinkin...a little bit of this would make our lives better living here." Daryl huffs out.
"Yeah, right." I snort. He lightly chuckles.
"Been a long while since we've gotten some privacy for ourselves." He shrugs.
"Not entirely." I shake my head. "We've still got roommates here." I say.
"None of them are here, are they?" He asks. I throw him a smirk.
"They're not." I say.
"Exactly why I chose now to do this." He says. "But sneakin' around, it's more fun." He nods. We let out a few laughs. I pull myself from the bed, keeping the sheets wrapped around my body.
"Deanna's throwing a party tonight." I inform him. "She said it's a way for us to feel welcome, get a chance to meet everybody."
"You wanna go?" He asks me. I look down, shaking my head.
"Not really." I answer. "But it would be good for Harley. Get the chance to meet kids around his age so he can get out the house more and stuff, you know?" I say.
"Yeah." He nods. "It would be good for him." He says. I let out a sigh.
"I don't. Too many people. Too much going on." I shake my head. "But...I'll do it. For Harley."
"I'll go with ya." He calls. I raise an eyebrow at him.
"You don't have to." I smile at him.
"But I will. For you." He nods, sitting himself up in the bed. "Besides, imagine this, you, me, dressed up, you wearing a dress...or a skirt...giving each other dirty looks across the room, knowing exactly what we want. We'll sneak away, do our own thing. Steal a few bottles of wine or whatever the hell they got in the pantry." I let out a laugh as he pulls me onto his lap. He brings his lips to my neck, lightly kissing the skin and biting at it. "We both know we'd rather be doing somethin' else rather than go to some party. Plus side, everyone in this house will be gone." He says.
"Ha. Don't temp me." I push him down and climbed off his lap. I walk over to the bathroom, shutting the door behind me. I turned on the water to the shower and dropped the sheet, stepping inside. The hot water runs down my body, immediately throwing me into relax mode. God. If only we had a bathtub in this house, I'd fill it up with water and take a huge bubble bath with a bottle of wine. I'd be in heaven completely.
