Daryl
A loud explosion shakes the sewers. Carl falls into a coughing fit as Rick covers him with his body. Michonne pulls up for water, feeding it to Carl. The sewers shook from the explosion. I'm gonna guess it was if not on top of us than somewhere real close.
"Make it stop." Michonne calls. She stands up and presses Dwight against the wall. "Tell them to stop. Just make them stop!"
"I can't." Dwight shakes his head shamelessly.
"You can." Michonne nods. "You're one of them. They'll listen to you. Please." Dwight looks down. Rosita stands up and walks over to Michonne, grabbing her shoulder to possibly clam her. She then turns to Dwight.
"You said that Hilltop's safe, right?" She asks.
"Yeah." Dwight nods.
"We need to get everybody there." Rosita nods. "We can get Carl there.
"And they think all of you got away in the woods." Dwight argues. "They'e out there, looking."
"They saw us go West, so we won't go West." Rosita shrugs.
"Your best chance is tot stay here until they're gone." Dwight says.
"No." I say. "They find us here, we're dead."
"They're almost done." Dwight claims. "They gotta be. It wasn't about destroying the place. They don't have the ammo for that. After they let up, after they're gone, that's when we go." Judith let's out a small whimper. I press her head against my chest, holding her tight.
"Okay. We wait." Rosita declares.
"You sure going to Hilltop's the best plan?" Dwight asks.
"You got a better one?" She asks him.
"All of you in one place, together..." Dwight shrugs.
"All of us together..." I call. "We'll be their worst damn nightmare." I say and walk away from the conversation. I know we're all here together and prepared to do whatever we can to remain alive, but I can't slow my heart down. I've got this constant fear just lingering around behind me. It almost feels like...remember being a kid, you were always scared of the monsters in the closet? And you just could feel the cold chill on the back of your neck, like someone's reaching for you and you can feel the tips of their fingers on your skin. That's exactly how I feel right now. It's terrifying. I can't help but feel that damn fear hitting me. But...at the same time, I just know we're gonna be out of this and we are gonna fight 'em and we are gonna win this.
A few hours pass by and we noticed the explosions above us began to die down fairly quickly.
"Sounds like they're letting up." Scott claims.
"Looks like you were right." Rosita calls. "They're leaving." I glance over my shoulder.
"Maybe." I claim. Won't know til we go take a look. I walk over to Rick and he stands up. "Want me to go take a look?" I ask him. He throws me a nod and takes Judith from my hands. I reach out and grab his shoulder, giving it a hard squeeze. I turn away and head off to down the aisle of the sewer. Rosita and I walked together to the exit hole. I climbed up first, pushing the lid up and sliding it to the side. I slowly poke my head out and look around. It's quiet. Nobody seems to be moving in. Nobody's coming out. I look down and nodded to Rosita. I climbed up out of the hole and held my hand out for her. I pull her up and we jog over to the back gates, which were completely destroyed from the convoy.
We approach the slightly opened door and peaked through. The flames on the houses, grass, anything that was burning, burned. But, the good thing was...none of the Saviors were in sight. No trucks, no people, no Negan. They're gone. I turn over to Rosita, nodding my head. We slowly pull back from the gate and jogged back over to the manhole. Rosita goes down first and I climbed down, covering the hole. We walk back to the other together, seeing that nothings had changed.
