We finished our make out session and I was thankful for the break away from my thoughts about Taylor and Lillian. Chad and I finished our drinks as we walked out of the room and through the hallway, leading to the stairs. I didn't other to look back to see if Taylor and Lillian were rounding the corner or not. I did my best to push them out of my head but I failed terribly.
Lillian. I hated her more than I ever had. She was the reason, now, that I couldn't have Taylor. Her and Chad. Chad was sweet and had managed to distract me from the reality of things but I knew my heart truly didn't love him. I just didn't know how to tell him that.
Chad led me downstairs to where people were still partying. I spotted Lillian. I wasn't surprised to find her talking to some guy.
"Are you tired?" Chad stopped at the entrance of the house to look down at me.
"Actually, I am." My throat was beginning to feel sore again which confused me because the medicine mom had made me take helped with my mini cold.
"Alright, I'll take yo-" Chad was interrupted by Taylor, who had magically appeared in front of us.
"Nah man, I got her." Taylor smirked and patted Chad on the shoulder.
Chad threw a death glare at Taylor but that didn't stop Taylor from taking my hand. I was thrown off guard so no words came out of my mouth as Taylor basically dragged me to his parked mustang.
"Get in." He instructed.
I did as told and buckled myself in. He got in beside me and started the car. He wasted no time speeding off. Silence filled the car and it scared me. Taylor was never completely quiet. I snuck a glance at him and saw him running his hands through his hair.
"What's wrong?" I whispered.
Instead of answering, he slowed the car down and pulled to the side of the road. He cut the engine and we stayed still. Finally, he let out a sigh.
I looked at him, confused. He looked at me then.
"Don't look at me like that." He muttered.
I averted my gaze, unsure as to why he had cut the car off. My mind was going crazy. Why was I with Taylor? Why was I in the same car as him? Why was I sitting beside the guy who kissed my cousin; who kissed evil Lillian? Suddenly, I grew furious.
"Take me home." I whispered, my voice shaking.
His gaze poured through me. "I was trying to make you jealous." His soft words echoed in my ears.
"W-what?" I stuttered, shocked by his sudden words. I turned my head to look at him. His eyes met mine.
"Chad pissed me off." Was all he said.
"So you punished me?" I asked, hurt.
He smirked. "It worked, I assume? I made you jealous."
My jaw dropped but I quickly shut my mouth. "No-"
"Don't deny it." He whispered.
"You didn't make m-" My words were cut off by Taylor's lips.
At first I was in literal shock to do anything as he moved his lips against mine. But after fighting my thoughts I kissed him back forcefully, unaware that this is what my heart really desired. His lips were so soft; as I had imagined them. It all felt so right. I felt so alive.
His hand reached for my face as he kissed me harder. His thumb caressed my cheek before his hand fell down to hold my waist. He leaned forward even more, as if he wanted me badly. I smiled against his lips.
Finally, after our long kiss, Taylor pulled back to catch his breath. "We can't keep denying the obvious truth, Hayles." His breath brushed my lips and his eyes stared deep into mine. He was beautiful.
I bit my lip and closed my eyes, wanting to save this moment forever. His hand traveled to my cheek again and he caressed my skin.
"Open your eyes." He said.
My eyes fluttered open; my heart racing.
"I want you."
