"I have some good and bad news."

The call from the paramedic never came. Taylor had taken me home and there we waited on my bed for any calls. Eventually, I fell asleep beside Taylor. I hated myself for it but I was glad they hadn't called while I was asleep. Not too long after I went to sleep, Taylor did the same.

Frustrated, I sighed and put my head in my hands. Taylor was still asleep, beside me. Last night really wore him out.

It was frustrating having to wait and wait for any information on James. I was worried sick about him.

Suddenly, the unexpected happened. My phone started ringing. At first, I jumped but then I fumbled around for my phone. Once it was in my grasp, I pressed answer.

"Hello?" I said quickly.

"Hello. Is this," The lady, her voice sounded familiar so I assumed she was the one from last night, paused then continued, "Hayley Williams?"

I nodded, even though she couldn't see me, and spoke. "Yes, yes it is." By this point I was very aggravated and wished she would go on and tell me what was wrong with James.

"Well Miss Williams, I have some good and bad news." She didn't bother to ask which I wanted to hear first. "Bad news is, James was starving himself. Good news is, we have just now been able to get food into his system. Last night he was completely out of it and we weren't able to get food inside of his mouth." She sighed.

James? Starving himself?

I sat there, in complete shock. James wouldn't do that. He was too smart to do that. My eyes wandered everywhere and I nervously bit my lip, trying to hold tears back.

"Oh my god." I croaked. Tears started falling down my cheeks. I couldn't help but cry. My best friend had tried starving himself. I was more than hurt. I felt guilty. Extremely guilty.

"Miss Williams, its..." The lady started speaking again but I zoned her voice out. My thoughts were drowning me.

This is all my fault. I left him alone for days before finally deciding to take him out. He spent hours, days and nights, in his house alone. And the whole time he wasn't eating. Just crying his heart out over Ana. Anger and guilt flooded over me.

"God dammit!" I yelled and threw my phone at my wall with full force. It clattered to the ground and the glass flew everywhere.

Taylor immediately sat up and looked at me with bewildered eyes. "Hayley, Hayley what's wrong?" Concern filled his voice.

"James," I croaked, still crying. "He.." I trailed off and Taylor wrapped his arms around me.

My heart ached and I silently prayed James would be okay. In that moment, I promised to myself that I would always take care of him.
