𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀 hung back slightly, still walking with Sam and Zemo but a few feet behind.
"Where is he now?" Bucky started off with an easy question. He knew Adella didn't like to be asked so many questions at once but the least she could do was give him answers for keeping this from him.
The Rogers' pinched her eyebrows together in confusion.
"Jed. Where is he now?" Bucky said, saying her son's name to make it clear who he was talking about.
"With a friend, his name's Agent. He helped me disappear and babysits Jed sometimes."
"I already don't like him." Bucky said, referring to the part where Agent helped her leave.
Adella laughed shortly before looking at Bucky, his face was serious until he let the barrier crumble, a grin appearing to say he was joking... sort of.
"How old is he?"
"Five."
"Does he look like you or his dad?" In his head, he was trying to picture a mini you but a boy version.
Adella thought for a moment, picturing every feature her son had in her mind. "Me, thank god." She pulled her phone out and zoomed in a picture of Jed before handing the device to Bucky.
Bucky smiled at the picture, "He's got you're eyes. Have you ever told him about me?" hope glinted through his eyes that Jed has at least heard of him. He handed the phone back which Adella then put in her pocket.
"Of course. Your his favourite out of everyone I've told him about."
"Really?" Bucky raised his eyebrows, a warmth feeling growing inside of him. Soon, it disappeared, thinking about all of the horrible stuff he did as the Winter Soldier. "And... did you tell him about the Winter Soldier? That, that's me?"
Adella shook her head. "No. Because although it was your body that murdered all those people, it wasn't your own mind. You were controlled, you did it without being able to stop yourself. The Winter Soldier is not who I fell in love with, it's Bucky Barnes. So, when I was telling my son about the man I love, I didn't mention anything about the Winter Soldier, just the amazing times I spent with you."
Bucky's gloved hand went towards Addie's, turning it over and intwining his fingers with hers, their arms swaying together as they walked. That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to him.
"So, when can I meet him?" Bucky asked.
"As soon as all of this is over." Addie smiled. "He'll be very happy to hear that me and him are moving back to Brooklyn."
