I hurried to my room trying to find my blades. Alban quickly ran in.
"Dear, I don't think it's safe for you to join your father. You should stay." He said.
"I do not obey you. I must find my brother it's my fault I laid eyes off of him." I said.
"But-
"And do not call me dear if you were going to say such a thing to me. You know how much I care for my brother...." I looked at him.
"Alright, I'm coming." Alban said.
"No you cannot come, you shouldn't." I said shaking my head.
"Yes, I must... not just for the sake of your brother but for your safety too." He spoke wisely.
"...Alright... alright, we must go now." I said and he followed me out of the door.
I rushed outside of the castle with Alban to the horses. Father was there, he had gathered a lot of men and guards. He looked at me with a confused look and immediately shook his head.
"You are not joining." He put his hand in front of me.
"I don't obey-
"As your father I am telling you, you are not joining us..." he said.
"You are wasting your time while my baby brother is out there waiting for rescue. It's been days father! I don't care if you don't want me to join or not, I want to be there when I save him!" I yelled. It went quiet and all eyes were on me.
Father didn't speak a word. He nodded and turned around getting on his horse. A lady came with a horse for me. I got on and followed the men. We rushed toward the city. I followed behind.
When we arrived and tied up the horses I walked around the cit. It felt empty, like a ghost city, it was quiet. I went into places asking people if they noticed anything suspicious.
Every place I visited was quiet, some had people who were almost as quiet as a mouse.I asked around, some mostly said nothing. I walked down a path and came across a man just sitting on the streets with his face in his knees.
"Sir, are you alright?" I asked approaching him. "What a beautiful lady you are..." He said to me smiling. I smirked and felt flattered.
"You- you mustn't be out here" He quickly became troubled. He stood and grabbed my arm taking me. I stopped- "What are you doing?" I asked. "They come in the night, they take you and they do very very bad things..." He hesitated.
A group of men came down the path towards us. I squinted and it was father and the guards.
I walked towards them and stopped after hearing the sound of screaming. I got scared and my heart bested very fast. When I turned the man ran inside a random room.
"What's-
"Shh..." I said interrupting my father.
I gestured to come inside and they all followed me. Quietly we ran inside.
"We cannot get caught. Whoever that the city is scared of must have William. Not just William, but many people. It seems they come in the night and take whoever they see." I said quietly.
"Okay, we will sneak out and follow them to their base or wherever they come from. Whoever these men are could be seriously dangerous. Do not fight until my signal... if we cause destruction it could result very badly. We don't know how many there are and don't want to know how many more there could be. So just follow me." Father said.
I followed behind the group like a child. It reminded me when I was little. When father would always wonder the castle and I'd follow him around.
Before William was born. When Isaac was just a little boy. It wasn't the same now. I now feel I am fighting a game for a throne...
We walked quietly up the streets staying hidden, farther turned a corner and quickly turned back. He made a signal. I walked up to the front because I didn't feel safe at the back alone. I peaked and saw the group of men... wandering the streets with their weapons.
"We must make a distraction..." I whispered.
"Yea." Father said still peaking behind the corner. I turned around and saw barrels and buckets and walked towards them.
"Helena!" Father whispered loudly."
I picked up some and threw them making a loud noise and kept throwing them. I made a signal for my father and his guards to go the opposite way. They ran and father waited.
I kept making loud noises and then dropped it and ran before they could see me. I ran quickly and quietly a different direction. We saw a entrance to somewhere from where they came from. Father looked at me mad.
"Don't ever do that again." He said.
"We don't have time for this, wherever that tunnel leads is where we need to go. And we need to go right now." I said. We quickly ran into the tunnel and shut the door. It became dark.
"There is a light at the end, let's just go to it." Father said. I nodded and followed behind. We stopped as we heard footsteps run on the other side of the door.
"Faster, run..." I whispered.
Through the bright room it was a big tall high ceiling. Music playing that you cannot here from the city. There were a lot of men, drinking, woman sitting in there laps.
People dancing. They're dre toying with weapons as a joke.
"A party?" I questioned looking at Alban.
I looked around and there was 2 men standing in front of bars that almost looked like s cage.
"Over there... there's only men in there." I pointed at it.
"They take the men and play with the woman." Alban scoffed.
"Alright here's the plan..." father said. He kept talking but his voice fainted out. A handsome man walked down stairs, he looked special. He had men behind him and beside him. He must be the leader.
He walked into a room. And 2 men waited outside.
Father looked at me.
"Alright Helena?" He questioned.
"I've got an idea." I said to him.
"Have you not heard anything I said?" He asked.
"Your plan is good." I said taking of my cloak and putting a blade in my bra. I took down my hair.
"Do whatever you just said, I'll distract." I said to father. I quickly got up, nobody noticed me through. I just looked like every other woman. I headed towards the door where the guards stood. "Helena!" Father called to me quietly. I turned around and he looked mad. He shook his head and turned a corner following his plan.I turned back around and walked up to the door. They stopped me and stood in front of me.
"We weren't informed by Mr Caldren someone would be visiting him..." the man said.
"Why would he tell you... I'm a secret. I mustn't keep him waiting-
I shoved through them to the door and they slightly pushed me back.
"No, get lost..." He said again.
"What do you think Mr Caldren will do if he sees you aren't doing what he wants." I said. They looked at each other and back at me. They stepped aside and I opened the fancy door and let myself in.
