Keeping herself busy was easy. Rachel helped Daniel and Robby fix up the dojo and she was still seeing Ms. Sandra at the school. She had plenty to do, all of which she was able to do without her dad knowing. When her dad walked inside his home, it was as if he lived alone. The house was still and quiet and dark.Rachel no longer came out of her room to rant about some show. Elaine never ran up to him with a new picture colored just for him. Elaine never asked him to read to her anymore. There was only one good outcome. He and Rachel never fought, because they never spoke.
Now, why Rachel was invited to the 'victory dinner' for Cobra Kai, she didn't know. Still, she tried to be as happy as she possibly could. Which meant she couldn't think of Elaine and had to pray that no one would bring her up. The last part wouldn't be as hard, only Hawk and Miguel knew about Elaine, and neither of them knew she was taken.
"Is anyone gonna point out that Miguel is over there by himself, moping?" Rachel asked, taking a nacho from the plate.
"I thought you hated him," Hawk said, chuckling.
"I never said that." Rachel retorted, sipping from her drink.
"Actually, you did." Rachel rolled her eyes.
"I thought he was your friend, why aren't you seeing what's wrong with him?" Hawk looked up before he said and stood.
"C'mon." He muttered.
He, Aisha, and Rachel all walked to the lonely table Miguel was sitting at. Rachel took his phone from him, sliding it across the table.
"This is how you celebrate a first-place trophy?" Aisha asked him.
"She blocked me," Miguel replied, his voice low and quiet.
"So, what happens when you get blocked? You counterpunch. Except maybe don't actually hit her this time. What, too soon? Look, all I'm saying is don't give up." Hawk was worse at advice than Rachel thought.
"It's no use. I blew any shot I had with her." Miguel sighed, shaking his head.
"Just give Sam some time. She'll come around." Aisha reasoned, she was a lot better at giving advice than Hawk and Rachel.
"Or she won't." Rachel looked up at the ceiling as if she were deep in thought until she realized Aisha was glaring at her. "Sorry." She mumbled.
"You're the champ now. You can get any chick in the Valley you want." Except for one, Miguel thought. "You're like Drake. Enjoy it." Hawk stood and left, leaving Miguel, Aisha, and Rachel at the table.
"I'm not sure I wanna be Drake," Miguel said, staring at the table.
"Don't worry, you're not." Aisha smiled, along with Miguel. Then Aisha left as well, leaving Miguel and Rachel alone.
"I hope you know I was just joking earlier, about Sam not coming around," Miguel looked at Rachel as she patted his arm, "she will. She sucks at holding grudges. You just gotta wait." It was the first time that Rachel was intently nice to him, and Miguel replayed the scene over and over in his head for the rest of the night.

"Dad." Rachel burst into Johnny's office as he spoke to Miguel. It was the first time she'd spoken to him in two days.
"Hold on." Rachel sighed, leaning against the doorframe. "Stop whining like a little bitch and get out and finish your drills." Rachel watched a small smile form on her dad's and Miguel's faces, causing her to shift from one foot to another. After Miguel had left, Rachel sat in front of a chair in front of her dad's desk.
"So,-" Johnny started but Rachel interrupted. He hated how much she interrupted him.
"My therapist wants you to come in tomorrow." Johnny furrowed his eyebrows. "She wants to talk to you, and she wants me to talk to you while you're in there." Johnny sighed, he wasn't sure about the whole therapy thing.
"I don't know." Rachel sighed, rubbing the temples on her head.
"It wouldn't be therapy for you, it'd be for me, and you'd get to understand me more." Johnny thought about it for a moment. He may not have been sure about therapy, but a chance to get to understand why Rachel was the way she was, was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.
"Okay."
~
"I can't believe he made you do all that." Rachel chuckled, watching Hawk and Miguel play Call of Duty.
"He never made you do it?" Miguel asked, glancing back at Rachel who laid back on his bed.
"Oh yeah, but I did way worse shit." Rachel laughed, Hawk nodding along.
"In elementary school, she pushed some girl off the slide, like over it," Hawk announced, signing when he lost. "Rach, can I ask you something?" Hawk asked, turning around after throwing down the controller.
"Sure."
"If I liked a girl, for almost a year now, and sometimes it's obvious she feels the same, wouldn't you say I should ask her out." Rachel shrugged, propping herself up with her forearms.
"Yeah, but I thought you and Moon were a thing." Hawk nodded.
"Asking for a friend." Rachel raised an eyebrow, Miguel gulping, luckily Rachel didn't suspect the friend to be him.
"Demi likes someone?" Hawk scoffed.
"No." Rachel shrugged, laying back on Miguel's bed, and watched them play another game.
