KHAIRAT'S POV :
It was my  16th Birthday and things weren't going as planned for me because my dad (Mr Fawaz's) a man of rules and regulations but who cares this is the United States of America and absolutely no one cares ,so I'm having things my way.

Khairat  I'm getting late for work he shouted from downstairs

Coming i replied dragging my legs sluggishly making my way down the stairs

Here's a list of all the things i will be needing for this year's party I said  handing him a full sheet of paper covered up with ink

All this list for what? He said suprised

You're joking right he asked i could sense the tone of astonishment in his voice

Hah joking i laughed off Well ......Mr Fawaz Like i said they are all the things i would be needing for this year's party, this year no if's no buts I want things done my way I said making my way towards the kitchen in my baggy pyjamas to make myself a cup of hot coffee.I could hear shuffles from where i was in the kitchen and i knew he was already out for work .I smirked knowing well he wouldn't deny my favor

Standing in the kitchen, behold there's Hadiza (My stepmom) going on with her fake morning pretence of being a good mother character but to be precise and like all fairytales and reality we all know most stepmoms to be wicked but Miss Hadiza was just the opposite. She was actually a nice person but to me she was a mixture of fake, sly and cunning so her being nice to me was just too odd to me for the past years together.

I went towards the sink, opened the tap and there it was! fresh clean water gushing out through the tap i quickly rinsed the stainless pot put in an adequate amount of water , rinsed my white mug and placed in alot of  sugar into the mug to my taste.I ignited the gas placing the pot on hot fire eagerly waiting for it to be hot while i got lost playing with my fingernails. She just kept looking  at my single movement worried she might say something to frustrate me .

Goodmorning Sweetie She greeted cleaning the kitchen cabinet with a handkerchief

I chose to ignore her pouring in my coffee into my mug and taking in a sip of it but then she chose to speak again

Big day isn't it ? Someone's clocking 16 this year .Am i right?? She said with a wide smile plastered on her face

Hmmm....... I replied gently taking in a sip of my hot brewed cofee.

Sweetie your dad just left in a hurry i was wondering........

I choked up real bad upon taking a sip of my coffee into my throat. A loud cough escaped my mouth as I was coughing so bad that i began to feel something blurry in my eyes .Tears!! That something were tears.

Sorry here drink some water she said handing me a cup of warm water in her hands.I was coughing desperately in need of help but my pride wouldn't let me take a sip of the water being offered to me not until i felt two strong hands pinning my hands down and forcing the cup of water straight unto my lips .I began gulping down the water as if i was thirsty for a thousand years not until I suddenly snap back to my senses and shoved the cup of water unto her whole  face and body making the aluminum cup fall unto the ground .The maid came rushing into the kitchen leaving her work in the lawn.

Pleaseee!! I said rubbing my two palms together.Whatever my dad has done or said if it involves me you should never budge in please i beg and today's a big day for me just stay out of my affairs today ok . I said looking straight into her brown eyes

Besides this is My Father's house or should i say Mr Fawaz's house so what has my affairs in this house got to do with you,Look Hadiza i will be organising an evening  party in this house so please don't bother showing up if possible find some other place to hangout till I'm done I said with authority lacing through my words

But sweetie she  protested aiming to reach my arm

I quickly used my hand to remove hers from mine making her palm touch the hot aluminum pot which i just used for my coffee

Aah!! A loud sting left her mouth .I could see her  brown palm slightly red pale from the minor accident . I couldn't care less, no emotion of sympathy were to be seen from my actions

A lone tear escaped her eyes as she used her other palm to wipe her tears in the meantime look for honey or oil to lubricate her palm.

Need some water? i asked pouring in my  now warm coffee into a bowl and walking towards her. A Confused Hadiza muttered a thank you  and quickly dipped in her hand into the bowl totally making it worse for herself. She quickly removed her hand making the glass bowl fall unto the ground and shattering into pieces

Oops!! Look what you've done now can't you be more careful I said slightly pouting

Ma'am.... Leena the maid was about speaking.I raised up my hand in an attempt to stop her from speaking.

She looked up at me with teary eyes filled with so much emotions  wondering how her sweet 8 year old had grown up into a despicable 16 year old which made me feel so numb at the moment

Leenah...I called out not shifting my gaze from Hadiza's

Ye..yes.. ma'am she quickly answered hesitantly

You know what to do,i want this place this place looking a sparkling clean. This place looks so unhygienic and filthy all of a sudden ,when you're done make me some  pancakes with little salt ,you know how i like it best, don't keep me waiting i have other places to be at I said

Ye..yes.. ma'am she quickly answered hesitantly and getting into work

I walked out on Hadiza slightly rubbing my shoulder against her .I abruptly stopped in the middle of my tracks at the entrance of the kitchen door gently turning around to face her from a few meter distance

I told you to stay away . Didn't i ? I said looking at her. Those were my last words to her before leaving the kitchen to my room upstairs
