chapter 7: The party preparation

It was due time for the party to commence.The interior decorator did a marvelous job decorating each part of  the lawn with my favorite color (golden) .The lawn was swept so well that not a single dirt could be spotted,the poolside had few candles lit aligned at the edges of the pool .The DJ arrived on time getting ready to set his jazz on track , but somethings were still missing

What do you mean it's blue not golden I shouted at the other side of the call

Sorry  for the inconvenience ma'am seems like there have  been some mistake .

You'd better be!  I need my cake now and at this very moment or you refund me back my money I said totally annoyed

Not to worry in the next 10 mins a package would be delivered at your doorstep and.....

Bullshit! I said terminating the call not giving the caterer a chance to finish speaking

Leenah! Leenah ...I called out loud making my way down stairs

Yes ma'am she rushed in a hurry holding a tray of  fresh baked cookies in her hands

Leenah...  Look just take a good look at me ! I'm a mess ,my hair my face and not to mention my nails ... Leenah I mentioned all at once not stopping to catch my breath

Careful with that ,not there  put it to the middle for GOODNESS SAKE!How do you want people to see me when I'm not placed at the middle Don't forget I'm the center of attraction! I shouted at Jeff who was placing my chair at the wrong position

Khairy a voice from my behind called  interrupting Leenah  in the middle of her statement once again .It was Catherine (Cat for short ) who was and still is my classmate and very good friend friend

Happy birthday hon she said embracing me into a hug

And a little something for the star of today She said breaking free from our hug and placing a small white box unto my palm

Awwwn thank you i said looking at her adoringly

Wait until it's time to dress up then you can open it she instructed

OMG! Khairy you're a mess ! Just take a look at you she said taking a good look at me lacing in every single word of her disgustingly

I know right I said sniffing my pits in my bodycon

Not to worry I'm here , Let's go get ready she said dragging me towards my room

Leenah you may go, you're excused for now make sure everything is in other ,the confectionaries,the desserts, snacks and all should be in order .No room for mistake . Everything should be perfect,i said with full authority

Yes ma'am she replied disappearing from my sight

The cake had arrived , and Leenah had made sure it was kept in the right place until i asked for it. The dj stayed put and only did what he was instructed to do for the time being .  People both (girls and boys )  had started coming as Everything as planned to me as i look out the window and saw everything into view

Wow! I look totally different i said taking in a view of me from the mirror,Cat thank you I smiled hugging her tight

Hey let's wait till you're all dressed up then you can thank me  ok she said patting back

Uhmmm......right but first let's see what you got here for me I replied  unwrapping the small white box excitedly

It was a golden pendant with my name imprinted on it .It looked so nice that i couldn't help but feel so blessed and happy at the moment

You like it.....she asked bringing me out of my reverie

No i don't ! I love it I squealed hugging cat so tight that i could feel her hands tapping my back to break free

Ok .....she giggled our dress now miss she said

Oh right that ,just a minute .....I said making my way unto the closet

Knock...
Knock..

Yes who's there? Cat answered while i was rampaging through my closet looking for something chic to wear

Hmmmm...No answer well i will just continue pressing my phone  she shrugged

Again came the knock .This time a little bit  loudly. Cat was already up on her feet making  her way towards the door as i beat her unto it opening the door frustratedly to give the person a piece of my own mind

Jeff ...I said

Who's jeff ?Cat who was now sitted at the bed asked

No one cat just the chaffeur i replied back

Oh......i heard her say

What's it ?Why the loud knocking are you planning on damaging my eardrums? I asked

Sorry Ma'am  i thought you were at the bathroom that's why anyway, it's a parcel for you He  said handing over a color golden  package  neatly tied and decorated in pink and golden ribbon

From? I asked curiously

It was a guy ,he came driving in a hurry, I didn't get to see his face properly because he was in shades . He only mentioned your name and handed it to me .He didn't even spare me the chance of asking him his name but whoever it's he sure knows you from the way he spoke

Ok thank you ,here you go I said handing him a fee

Thank you ma'am he grinned sheepishly

A package for me! From who i thought inwardly Let's seee.....

What's that? Cat asked walking towards me

A package cat .....A package .....I repeated
