Three month after dad's death .My Grandma (Mom's stepmom) was persistent on mom to get married again .She had set up numerous blind dates for mom whenever she likes because she had giving mom tons of chances to bring out a suitor but mom wasn't just in the mood infact she was waiting for the perfect time to come but when is this perfect time of hers ever coming??.Mom, You're not taking your medicines as the doctor prescribed , don't come telling me to wipe my tears when your BP rises again Mom said rubbing an ointment on Grandma's feet and massaging it
Grandma kept quiet for a long time ignoring mom as she keeps blabbing
Here mom said handing her a cup of water and her medicines
*Sigh* Mom I'm not Going to be going forth and back like this with you. If you don't take your medicines i will get mad at you She said slightly feigning annoyance .She knew what the problem is, it's mom's attitude on having no interest in getting married anytime soon
Fine call that Khaseem or whatever his name is , I'll go get dressed up now
Really! She finally said feeling so happy and glad her daughter finally accepted to give it a last try
But if it doesn't work ,let me be Mom said
Come Grandma said hugging mom so tight ,God bless you she said letting her free and kissing her forehead. Make sure to wear that lace i gave you, dress up nicely . I love you
Aaah....The kids! She shrieked upon sighting the time on the wall clock
Musa will go pick them from school. He's your brother anyways and his office is just directly close by their school .I will call him now Grandma said dialing his number on Tab
Fine I will get going now she said leaving the room
......................

Thanks, you see i raiser her up into a very beautiful woman .You can see she has taken the beauty from me Grandma said flaunting the tip of her white hair underneath her scarf
The two women laughed heartily
I giggled a bit from where i standing at the kitchen door taking a view of what was happening
She really doesn't look like you The older woman added making Grandma feel a little bit sad but tried hard to mask up her sadness with a polite smile
Nasreen Go get the drinks the vistors are here already Uncle Musa (Grandma's biological son) called out loud enough for everyone in the living room to hear
Yes ! uncle I quickly answered walking into the kitchen
Uncle Musa was present in the absence of Grandpa who's long late just before i was a few years old. The place was lively with the tv on, everyone chit_chatting &Uncle Musa keeping the Man's Dad company except for the duo lovebirds who were just mute but only kept stealing glances at one another
I brought forth the refreshments and snacks as welll Saying my Salam making my presence known to them
Wa alaikumusallam They responded
Easy there,My mom's suitor whom i didn't know said standing up quickly to help me drop the filled up trays of refreshments and snack on the ground
Thank you i said politely walking my way out of the living room
Who's she?The maid The woman asked . Making me stop abruptly in my tracks
Mom...He called out gently. She's my soon to be daughter
Oh so she's the one,My son had actually told me of her . Whenever he speaks of her it's as if she's his own daughter . My apologies i thought she was a little girl of 10 years i never knew she would be this big......
Thank Goodness i was just few steps close to my room when i ran and shut it closed , hoping no one saw that
Fateemah! The man's Dad called his wife's name in a sternly manner warning her from blabbing any more words inorder not to cause any trouble
Actually there's another ..............
Please drink! The drink and snacks are getting cold Uncle Musa said cutting off Khaseem from completing his statement. Mom looked up at the man opposite her ,she only wished it wasn't what she was thinking? His parents can't say they don't know of Yasmeen's existence
Bishmillah The older man said grabbing a bottle of Coca_cola and pouring it into his cup to his own fill.
I'll try the samosas. The woman said taking in a big bite of a samosa displaying all signs of her enjoying the delicious snack
Son try some........
Mom !i called out panicking
Yas...yas ...yasmeeen i stammered. That which i knew best in doing was stammering. Yes i was born a stammerer so i was laughed ,bullied and called all sort of names in school as i wasn't even given the opportunity to show my great capabilities in some areas
What...What...Yasmeen?What of her Mom panicked moving close to me, shaking my arm vigorously
Musa quick! Get the Car Grandma said rushing towards her bedroom to grab her hijab,as if sensing this would happen a long time ago
All i could feel was hot tears gushing down my face making mom's eye go wide with shock
What's happening ?The older woman asked confused

Mom this isn't the time to ask questions, move please .Where is she? He asked trying to stay calm
Khaseem! His Mom called out loud
.............
Yasmeen ....Yasmeen baby wake up look at mommy. Mommy's here ,you know we have to celebrate your birthday soon . Don't leave mommy ok .Mom said vigorously tapping Yasmeen's faceYasmeen....Yasmeen....
Two strong hands came capturing Yasmeen in his hands and walking fast towards the door.
Let's go , the car's here he simply said
Yes ok Mom said only placing her headtie on her head and running towards the car park looking so disheveled
Everyone was already in their various car ,Uncle Musa drove his with Grandma and the vistors in it but at a slower pace calming down Grandma's nerves not to rise up her health situation
The other car was driven so fast by Mr Khaseem with I,mom and Yasmeen placed at Mom's lap.
An anxious ride to the General hospital .Thank Goodness no road safety officers and no traffic by the road side
