Nasreen's POV:
Avenue Estate:
Mom got a job offer at a resident far from home almost a two hour drive from home so she had to relocate to an apartment. Grandma insisted she stay at Uncle Musa's place but we all knew how cunning & sly his wife Khubrah could be so mom refrained from the idea of settling in his house.........
Wow...Wow Wow !! Uncle it's so big and amazing Yasmeen said running up and down in the houseYou like it?He asked smiling
Yes ofcourse Yasmeen replied back giggling out loud
Easy there don't fall down He said
I was to a music "scars to your beautiful_by Alessia cara"with my earphones plugged unto my ear when i felt one of them being removed
Huh? I said
What do you think of your new home? She asked
Mom it's amazing i smiled
Uncle Musa's phone began to rang it was his wife .Aunty Khubrah was in the car she refused to come in for some reasons known to her .She just didn't get along too well with mom and didn't like the too much attention her husband was giving to mom,if mom wasn't already a daughter to Grandma she had swear they were having a secret affair.Grandma nonetheless seemed to worry less of her total existence , she along got along with her noticing she's carrying her first Grandson
Ok so i will be going he gently said
I understand mom smiled. Thank you my regards to maman baby
I went straight to our bedroom ,to quickly freshen up and take a nap
..................
After a long nap,I woke up feeling a bit of headache. I went straight to the bathroom to splash some water on my head. It only got worst .I went back took out a 200 naira note from my wallet ,put in my hijab and went out to search for a pharmacy near by. I came across one "Dr Surry's Pharmacy"💉💊 :(DSP).I can see she's a good one cos despite it being owned by a female , people were piled up outside her pharmacy which was because it was the only good and pharmacy available in the estate .My head hurts so badly how am i going to walk pass through this people i thought inwardly
A girl covered in a hoodie walked up briskly Making her way into the pharmacy with no trouble
Excuse me ..
Excuse me.... Pardon me... Coming through ..... She kept saying until she made her way into the pharmacy .The crowd got noisier , the olds getting furious at the girl who had walked passed them
Here...she handed a paper unto the pharmacist uncovering her face her veil wrapped tight around her neck
Please hurry ! it's actually urgent she panicked.
Ok the pharmacist replied searching through the stack of medicines arranged on a shelf
I really needed the medicine so i had no choice but to shove myself in as well admist the crowd
A pack of panadol please i said holding my head tight
Thank you :) the girl said collecting the medicines to leave
Here you go too...The pharmacist replied giving me my medicine
Thank you i said disappearing from the scene
I walked up a bit fast, catching up with the girl .
Hey I believe you live here right?I asked inwardly
I'm new here ,mind if we get along and become friends I thought again inwardly .
Sigh...."I just don't do too well in the midst of people"Hi I'm fauziya she said extending her hand for a handshake
I was lost in my introverted thoughts and debates that i didn't know when we arrived at the doors of our houses.
Goodbye she said finally holding my hand for a handshake .I noticed the blue scarf she had draped round her neck tightly, i could see through it there were scars and bruises on her neck, these were no ordinary scars there were done intentional from an act of violence
She noticed the shocked look on my face and quickly walked in the house shutting the door behind her
Sigh...... I was left standing outside in my thoughts as usual.
I walked towards the next door, said my salam and went straight into our room . Thank Goodness they were still asleep else mom would have asked where i went to.
I took of my hijab ,went downstairs ,took my medicine. Then it quickly came into my head . She doesn't even know my name. I face palmed my head
