"Billie..." I whisper her name through my moans while her tongue is attached to my neck leaving little dark cherry bruises along my collarbones. "Bil seriously...it's already....8, we're supposed to be there....right.... now." I say as I hear the timer ringing from the oven downstairs.
"Mhmm five more minutes." She says burying her face in my neck and wrapping her leg around my waist.
"But the cookies will burn if we don't get up right now." I try getting out of her grasp, lifting my bedsheets up.
"Let them burn baby." She says while her cold soft hands trace along my body.
"I don't want to go that much either but come onnnn." I grab her arm trying to lift her up from her sleepy state as she murmurs something about canceling the plans we had at Zoe's.
"Meooww." Binx yawned on the end of my bed as I pet his soft head causing his bell collar to jingle.
"We can't cancel Bil. Get up and help me put the cookies into the container, we're already late." I say stepping down the creaky staircase as she follows slowly behind me.
My fingertips lifted open the white glass container painted with tiny strawberries and laid the chocolate chip coffee cookies inside before snapping a picture.
"Billie don't!" I smacked her hand away from the cookies and looked up from my phone straight into the dark blue eyes staring at me from across the marbled kitchen island.
"What..." I smiled wondering why she's giving me a look.
"You're just cute when you're all bossy and focused." She laughs tapping her fingers on the counter. I blush while I close the cookies up and tell Billie not to forget the peach lemonade sangria we made earlier.
"Fuck this is heavy, I dont think were going to be able to finish this all." She says slamming the fridge door with her leg trying to hold up the cocktail pitcher filled with lemon and orange slices floating around .
"I mean there's seven of us tonight, remember. Plus Ali is gonna be there." I remind her that Claire, Zoes friend that I met at school and Kit were also coming.
"Okay okay put that in the backseat WITH the seatbelt on. I don't need my car smelling like wine for the rest of the year, thank you very much." I laughed at Billie being so protective of her car as always.
I shut the passenger door beside me and turned on the heat before rolling down my sleeves, cold from the chilly air.
"God I can't wait for summer." I say while she starts the car and plugs her keys in.
"Me too, we never spent a summer together yet. Plus you'll be in bikinis all day and we can chill at la push and...." Billie's voice fantasizing about summer faded into the background of my mind. Her words remind me that we have only known each other for less than a year. These six months have felt like a lifetime.
"Right baby? Babe?....Maddy?" Billie says, bringing me back.
"Yeah! Sorry I was just thinking.Uh what were you saying?" I snapped back from my thoughts.
"Just that I think my parents will let me bring you to California this summer , we always go back in July to visit grams. " She says, focusing on the road. There's nothing more I could want than to be in Cali together right now away from here.
"But are you okay? What were you thinking about when you just floated away right now?" A concerned look painted across her fair facial features.
"Yeah no i'm fine. I just think...we should keep an eye on Ali tonight." I say playing with my fingers in my lap.
