It was an early Monday morning while I sat in class trying to overcome the worst weekend of sleep I have ever gotten all thanks to my racing mind.
"Now make SURE you have all your paint by tomorrow's class since we will be starting the first painting assignment. You will partner up with the person next to you and paint portraits of one another. You can use whichever style you want. It's up to you so be creative! OH and make sure you all have the ultramarine blue for this week!" Our art teacher explains to us before the bell for second period rings.
"Lucky me." I turned to Kit after hearing her say the first thing to me all morning.
"Actually you are, I'm a pretty good painter." I bat my eyelashes hearing the bell ringing on the announcement system and students gathering their art supplies.
"Shit I still need to get paint." I whisper to myself under my breath.
"Let's go then, I gotta get mine too." Kit says making me realize I was blabbering my thoughts out loud.
"But we have class right now-"
"So? Its nutrition, Ms.Lane won't mind she's probably only gonna be talking about how carbs will kill you the entire class." She says looking up at me convincing me to go, with her dark eyes.
"Yeah okay sure then....wait but-" She cut me off once again.
"But what?" She pauses for a slight moment. "But you know your girlfriend doesn't want you hanging out with me ...right?" The sound of the word girlfriend rolling off her tongue made me intrigued.
"I just didn't want to leave my friend Jason all alone, and Billie never said that she doesn't like you." Billie has never even said hi to Kit from my knowledge.
"Oh so you are dating then?" She tilts her head.
"Yeah, but why do you think she doesn't like you?" I ask gathering my pencils and stationary from the table.
"The look she gave me when she picked you up from class yesterday last week said all too much." She laughed.
"Well my girlfriend doesn't decide what I get to do. Lets go." I slung my bag over my shoulder and began walking out into the hall.
"Mhm I hope not." She says from behind me.

The bell hanging from the store's front door went off as we walked into the small art supply store and smiled at the owner. Hundreds of colors of paint and other materials were lined along rows almost like a library for painters. They had an amazing selection of things considering how small Clearwater is.
"Should we just get this one?" I hold up a small paint kit with a few colors inside.
"Eh, I don't like it." She makes a disgusted expression on her face.
"I like it." I say taking another look wondering why she doesn't.
"I don't." She replies.
"Okay well I do." I replied back as we continued going back and forth.
"Then buy it." She widens her eyes.
"Don't be all pissed when I have cool ass colors to paint my cool ass paintings in class and you're stuck with the primaries." Her voice raises as she walks backwards into the next aisle still keeping her gaze on me.
"At least I dont act like I'm still in primary." I say smiling seeing her smile back about to laugh.
"Okay fine you can stay here with your three colors while i'm looking over here." She disappears from my sight.
