Chloe took a deep breath and shakily sighed out as she pulled up outside the house. She slipped the knife into her back pocket as she stepped out of the vehicle. After what happened with Marcus she had decided her biological parents were a part of her past she wished to erase. She knocked on the door and waited. The young woman couldn't help but gasp as she later eyes on the woman who answered her knocks. She was the spitting image of Chloe. They had the same facial structure, hair, eyebrows.

"Chloe?" The older woman whispered.
"Mum." Chloe said softly, feeling tears slip from her eyes. She was pulled into a tight hug. "I'm so happy to see you. After what your father did- I wasn't sure I'd ever see you again. Oh my poor baby." Elizabeth cried. "I escaped, well I was freed by my new mother." Chloe told her as she was let into the house.

Elizabeth was silent for a moment, her face falling slightly. "I'm glad you have someone to protect you. I'm sorry I couldn't be that person." She sad sadly.
"It's not your fault is it? It was Marcus' fault for getting involved in Hydra." Chloe reassured her. Elizabeth sniffled and nodded. "I did try to rescue you. I had weapons and everything but Marcus stopped me. He convinced me if Hydra got word that I was going to attempt to save you they'd kill you. I couldn't risk it." The woman explained.

"I'm happy at least one of you cared about me." Chloe spoke. Elizabeth gave her a sad smile. "You were my entire world. I couldn't let you get taken and not at least try something." She said.
"I have people like that. People that are my entire world. The reason I live and breath. I lost one of them to the blip." Chloe admitted. Elizabeth squeezed her hand slightly. "So did I. Two years ago I had my second daughter, Cassie. The blip took her. Guess I'm just not meant to be a mother." The older woman wiped her tears away.

"I'm sure that's not true. I'm sure the Avengers will find a way to bring the blipped back." Chloe spoke up. Elizabeth shook her head. "They lost the first time. There's no Thanos to fight for the blipped back, that's what I've heard." Chloe let out a sigh. "I'm just holding out hope." She shrugged. Her mother nodded.

"Would you like to stay here with the night. I know you have a new mother, one who can take care of you better than I ever could but- I just want to try make up for the time I lost out on." Elizabeth asked reluctantly. Chloe smiled. "I'd love to."

The rest of the day, the two women spoke about how their lives had been, experiences they had, the people they'd met. "I can't believe you went through all that. I mean the amount of times you've almost died and you're only twenty-four." Elizabeth sighed. "Tell me about it," Chloe laughed. "It made me who I am though. Made me strong enough to escape death and not fall into it." She shrugged. Her mother nodded.

"We should get some sleep. You can take the spare room." The older woman said, checking the time and realising it was already two in the morning. "Alright. G'night, mum." Chloe said, standing.
"Good night, Chloe." Elizabeth hugged her before showing her where the spare room was.

A loud knocking at the front door woke Chloe up. She heard her mum walking down the stairs to answer it. She got up and made her way to the front door just to see Elizabeth open it. "Oh shit." Chloe mumbled as she saw a familiar redhead at the door. Natasha pushed her way inside and stormed over to her daughter. "What we're you thinking? Taking my car, running away, killing someone?" Natasha whispered the last part so Elizabeth didn't hear.

"Sorry mum. After the Red Room and then the chaos with the blip- I wanted to figure out my past so it didn't keep eating at me. I knew you wouldn't let me go off on my own so I ran away. I'm sorry." Chloe apologised. Natasha sighed and gave Chloe a hug. "I understand why you felt the need to do that but next time you need to talk to me. I think I had about four panic attacks before Steve calmed me down." The Avenger sighed.

"I'm sorry to interrupt but- Chloe the woman who adopted you is the Black Widow as in the Avenger?" Elizabeth questioned. "Yep." Chloe nodded.
"She really can keep you safe then." The brunette nodded. "Who are you?" Natasha questioned. "Elizabeth. I'm Chloe's biological mother." She introduced herself. Natasha nodded. "I'm glad you could meet her. She's turned into quite the extraordinary person." Natasha said proudly. "She really has." Elizabeth agreed with a grin.

"We really must be going. It's safer back at the compound and everyone else is worried about you." Natasha spoke, turning to look at Chloe. The young woman nodded. "It was nice seeing you again, Chloe," her biological mother hugged her one last time. "Before you go, I need you to take something. It's one of my bracelets. You used to love playing with it when you were younger." Elizabeth rushed into the kitchen and pulled a bracelet out of a drawer. She slipped it onto Chloe wrist. "Stay safe. Both of you." She nodded to Natasha and her daughter.

As the two came to the front door, Chloe turned to Elizabeth. "Marcus is dead by the way. He can't hurt anyone anymore." She spoke. Elizabeth smiled and nodded. "Thank you." She whispered.
