Chloe sat on the spaceship beside her mother. Her leg bounced up and down in a mix of excitement and nerves. As they pulled up to the planet, Carol went down for recon before the landing. Chloe twirled her ring between her fingers as she stared down at the planet. Natasha gave her a light rub on the shoulder with a reassuring smile. Chloe smiled back. This was just the start to getting Kate back, Chloe was too overwhelmed with emotions to speak.

"No satellites, no ships, no armies, no ground defences of any kind. It's just him." Carol spoke as she flew back up to the ship. "And that's enough." Nebula said quietly.

They landed on the planet and let Carol lead them to Thanos. Chloe clenched her fists, excitement and hatred boiling in her veins all at once. Carol beamed into the room, knocking Thanos back. Chloe dove in after her, webbing Thanos' neck and beginning to choke him. Rhodey and Bruce worked to begin taking the glove off the titan. Thor jumped in, cutting the gloved hand off. Rocket flipped the glove over. "Oh no." He whispered, staring hopelessly at the glove which was now missing the stones.

"Where are they?" Steve demanded coldly. "Answer the question." Chloe ordered bitterly next to Thanos' ear, tightening her grip around his neck. "The universe required correction. After that, the stones served no purpose beyond temptation." Thanos began. "You murdered trillions!" Bruce yelled, shoving Thanos backwards. "You should be thankful!" The purple titan retorted. Chloe silenced him by kicking his head into the ground.

"Where are the stones?" Natasha questioned, her eyes glistening with tears. "Gone. Reduced to atoms." Thanos answered. "You used them two days ago!" Pietro pointed out. "I used the stones to destroy the stones. It nearly killed me. But the work is done. It always will be. I am inevitable." Thanos told the Avengers.
"He must be lying. We have to tear this place apart." Chloe shook her head, her flame of hope beginning to flicker off. "My father is many things. A liar is not one of them." Nebula said. "Ah, thank you daughter. Perhaps I treated you too harshly-" Thanos was cut off by Thor's axe cutting through his neck.

"What did you do?" Rocket gasped.
"I went for the head." Thor said, his breathing unsteady as he began to step away from the decapitated body.

-1 Year Later-

Chloe sat with Natasha, silently cleaning Kate's old bow as Nat continued her meeting. "Carol are we seeing you here next month?" Natasha questioned the hologram of the enhanced woman. "Not likely." Carol told her. "What, You gonna get another hair cut?" Rocket asked the blonde sarcastically. "Listen fur face, I'm covering a lot of territory. The things that are happening on Earth; are happening everywhere." Carol spoke back. "That's a good point, that's a good point." Rocket muttered. "So, you might not see me for a long time." Carol turned her attention back to Natasha. "Alright. Well this channel is always active, so if anything goes sideways, anyones making trouble where they shouldn't, it comes through me." The redhead said. The holograms fizzled out. Other than Rhodey's.

"Where are you?" Natasha asked the man.
"Mexico. The Federals found a room full of bodies, looks like a bunch of cartel guys. Never even had the chance to get their guns off." He informed. "Probably a rival gang." Nat shrugged. "Except it isn't. It's definitely Barton," Rhodey said. Chloe finally looked up from Kate's bow. "What he's done here. What he's been doing for the last few years. I mean the scene that he left...I mean there's a part of me that doesn't even want to find him." Rhodes admitted. Natasha nodded slowly, trying to hold back tears. "Will you find out where she's going next?" She questioned. "Nat?" Rhodey started. "Please?" The ex-assassin added. "Yeah." The man nodded before his signal cut out.

That's when Natasha broke down. Chloe had seen this happen a few times. Natasha would be unable to hold everything in and would just begin crying until she couldn't anymore. She saw it whenever she slept on the mattress on Natasha's bedroom floor (that's when she didn't sleep in Kate's room). Chloe frowned, almost being brought to tears herself by seeing her mother so vulnerable.

She brought Natasha into a tight hug.
"You know, I'd offer to cook you guys dinner...but you seem pretty miserable already." A man's voice gathered their attention. Chloe gave Steve a small smile. "You know I saw a pod of whales while was coming over the bridge." Steve told them. "In the Hudson?" Chloe gasped slightly in shock. "Fewer boats, cleaner water." Cap explained. "Yanno if you're about to tell me to look on the bright side...I'm about to hit you in the head with a peanut butter sandwich." Natasha laughed lightly. "Sorry, force of habit." Steve said with an amused hum.

Steve took a seat at the table and looked between the two women. "You know I keep telling everyone they should move on, and grow. Some do. But not us." He said.
"If we move on who does this?" Natasha asked. "Maybe it doesn't need to be done?" Steve suggested. Chloe shook her head slightly, a sigh of disapproval leaving her lips at the blonde man's words.

"I used to have nothing. And then I got this. This job. This family," Natasha pulled Chloe into a comforting side hug as she spoke. "And I was better because of it. And even though they're gone; I'm still trying to be better." Nat admitted. "I think us three need to get a life." Steve smiled. "You first." Chloe said sarcastically, wiping a tear from her face.

The security cams came up, revealing a familiar someone to be at the gate. "Oh! Oh! Is anyone home? This uh, Scott Lang. We met a few years ago at the airport. In Germany. I was the guy that got really big." Scott yelled up to the camera. Steve, Natasha and Chloe slowly got to their feet. "Is this an old message?" Steve asked.
"It's the front gate." Natasha told him.

Scott paced back and forth muttering time himself. "Scott-" Steve interrupted his mumbling. "You okay, dude?" Chloe asked. Scott let out a sigh. "Have any of you ever studied Quantum Physics?" He inquired. "Only to make conversation." Natasha answered.

"Alright so, like five years ago, before Thanos. The Quantum realm was like it's own microscopic universe. You have to be really small to get in. Hope, she's my err...she was supposed to pull me out; but then Thanos happened and I got stuck," Scott spoke. "I'm sorry, that must of been a really long five years." Natasha said sympathetically. "That's just it! For me it was five hours. In the Quantum realm, everything is unpredictable." Scott revealed. "So what I'm saying is time works differently in the Quantum realm. The only problem is that right now, we don't have a way to navigate it. But what if we did? I can't stop thinking about it! If we could control the chaos? If we could navigate it? A way we could enter the Quantum realm at a certain time but then exit it at another time. Like-" Scott trailed off. "Time travel?" Chloe gasped.

"There's got to be some way! Ugh, it's crazy." Scott sighed, shaking his head. "Scott, I get emails from a raccoon. Nothing sounds crazy anymore." Natasha told him.
"So who do we talk to about this?" Scott looked around the room for an answer. Steve and Natasha shared a knowing look before it clicked for Chloe. "Oh for fucks sake." She muttered In disappointment.
