The team now gathered in Bruce and Tony's lab. "All our work is gone," Bruce frowned. "Ultron cleared out. Used the internet as an escape hatch."
"Ultron." Steve repeated back disapprovingly. "He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." Nat commented. Kate, Peter and Chloe looked at each other.

"He's in your files, he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Rhodey spoke up.
"Porn?" Kate mumbled.
"Fucking what?" Chloe turned to her.
"Nothing." Kate shook her head.
"Nuclear codes." Maria realised.
"Nuclear codes." Rhodey confirmed.
"Not porn. What would a robot want with por-" Kate was shut up by Clint covering her mouth.

"He said he killed somebody." Clint turned the attention away from his apprentice.
"But there was nobody else in the building." Chloe pointed out.
"Yes there was." Tony walked forwards, revealing a hologram of a very destroyed Jarvis. "This is insane..." Bruce mumbled.

"Jarvis was the first line of defence. He would of shut Ultron down, it makes sense." Steve sighed. Bruce shook his head. "This isn't strategy, this is...rage."
Thor stormed into the room, lifting Tony up by his throat. "There's a lot of that going on, it seems." Chloe commented.

"Use your words, buddy." Tony choked out.
"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark." Thor said, staring daggers into Tony. "Thor! The legionnaire?" Steve demanded. Thor dropped Tony, still giving him a threatening stare. "Trail went cold about one hundred miles out. But it's head north. It has the sceptre." Thor reported. "We have to retrieve it, again."

"I don't understand, you built this robot, so why's it tryna kill us?" Peter questioned. Tony simply began laughing, turning all heads towards him. Bruce shook his head at the other scientist. "You think this is funny?" Thor questioned.
"No. It's probably not, right? This is very terrible? It is- it's so terrible." Tony chuckled in between words. "He's bloody lost it." Chloe said under her breath, receiving a head tilt of partial agreement from Nat.

"This could've been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand." Thor scolded.
"No. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this!" Tony started to approach the god.

"I find it hilarious. An army of robots lead by a very powerful one who apparently expresses emotions who wants to make us all 'extinct'- that's a right old laugh." Chloe said in a very monotone and sarcastic tone. Tony turned to her, his eyes narrowing. "Look, kid, I don't think you get a say in an 'ironic' situation like this when we were all expected to have a good time and find it normal when you, someone who tried to kill part of our team and worked so closely with Hydra all their life was just so casually brought in!" Tony spat. Chloe clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. Never had she wanted to make the bad choice of her own accord so badly. "Tony! Don't you dare speak to her like that! Not after what shes been through! You created a murder bot in your own time on your own free will, the things she did had nothing to do with who she actually is!" Natasha spoke up, her normally light tone become scarily intense. "Nat." Clint eased, pulling his best friend back.

"We didn't! We didn't create a murder bot. We weren't even close!" Tony exclaimed. "Well you did something right, and you did it right here. The Avengers were supposed to be different from SHIELD." Steve piped in. "Anyone remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?" Tony looked around. "No- has never come up." Rhodey shrugged. "Saved New York!" Tony raised his voice. Chloe noticed how Kate seemed to shrink away at the sound of New York's history.

"Thor's right, Ultron's calling us out. We have to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place, let's start making it smaller." Steve instructed.

After a lot of research and looking through files, the Avengers found themselves on the African coast, invading a ship. "Stark is- he's a sickness!" Ultron exclaimed.
"Aww, junior, you're gonna break your old man's heart." Tony spoke sarcastically, landing between Thor and Cap. "If I have to." Ultron responded.

"Aye, this is what? Funny? Mr Stark. It's what? Comfortable? Like old times?" The Maximoff twin, Pietro glanced down at the nukes below. "This was never my life." Tony told him. "You two can still walk away from this," Steve told the twins.
"Oh we will." Wanda titled her head slightly. "I know you two have suffered-" Cap begun. "Ughhh- hah ha! Captain America, God's righteous man. Pretending you could live out of war. I can't physically throw up in my mouth but..." Ultron mocked. "If you believe in peace, then let's keep it." Thor told the robot.
"I think you're confusing peace with quiet." Ultron responded. "Yuh-huh. What's the vibranium for?" Tony questioned.
"I'm glad you asked that because I wanted to take this time to explain my 'evil' plan." Ultron said sarcastically. He put his hand forward, pulling Tony towards him, then throwing him into a crate.

The fight begun. Peter immediately jumped forwards to help out Tony, slowing down Ultron only slightly with his webs. Cap and Thor begun to fight robots down below. Chloe decided to go for the big prize, after what Tony had said in the lab, she had something to prove. She webbed Wanda's legs, pulling her down. "Nice to meet ya!" She smiled behind her mask as Wanda stared up at her with wide eyes.
"I like to know about any new friends I make." Wanda responded, putting her hand out, red whisks dancing around her fingers. "What?" Chloe asked, just before her eyes fluttered shut and open again.

"No..fuck- how?" Chloe felt her heartbeat quicken, banging into her chest at a painful pace. Her breathing became shallow as panic set in. She knew this place, this was the Hydra base where she had first been experimented on; where she had been trained. She could see the glass door which lead to the chair room also known as the 'punishment room'.

The door was attached to the training room, made out of glass to be a constant reminder not to slip up. She stood on the mat where she had trained so many times before. He muscles ached just looking around at the familiar area. She heard the whirring of the mechanical limb that belonged to Bucky. She turned around to face the soldier. "Bucky, you have to stop this isn't- Steve misses you, Bucky." Chloe's words were met with a sharp punch to the jaw. "Silence." The Winter Soldier ordered.

As Chloe lifted herself up, she realised she had changed locations. This place brought back memories that had been hidden to her for so many years. The Red Room. "Natasha Romanoff has escaped. You fought her for your graduation and you kept close on many missions together. Yet you have no clue where she is?" Dreykov demanded. "Yes, that's- that's right sir." Chloe replied, her breath shaky. "Wrong answer." A guard punched Chloe back to the ground. Chloe sat up, she was back on the cargo ship. "Holy shit! You're alive! She's alive, Pete!" Kate's frantic words barely hit Chloe as she struggled to comprehend what was going on. "What- Bucky- Nat- when- how-" the girl stumbled over her words. "You're okay, none of it was real, Wanda was messing with your mind." Kate spoke softly, looking into Chloe's eyes.

Chloe didn't respond. "Pete, help me get her back on the ship." Kate called the brunette over. He nodded and they both carried Chloe onto the ship. The teen spotted Nat, she had clearly also been a victim of the mind control. Chloe could only guess what she had been shown. She thanked her two friends and sat down beside the red head. Nat stared down at the floor. The younger assassin shuffled awkwardly for a moment before gently resting her head on Natasha's shoulder. "You're safe. Thank god you're safe." Natasha whispered.
"I'm safe with you, right?" Chloe asked her gently. "Of course. Always, I'll always protect you." Natasha nodded.
