As I pushed open the door to the pizzeria, the familiar scent of freshly baked pizza hit me. A few cars were already parked outside, indicating that I was running a little late. But as I made my way down the hallway to the employee's room, I was greeted by a cheerful voice.

"Hi, Y/N!" Mr. Emily exclaimed, a wide grin on his face. "I was just about to come find you. Do you think you could help William with the animatronic maintenance today? The mechanic is out sick, and we're a little short-staffed."

I hesitated for a moment, my mind racing. I knew that William was a little... odd. But I also knew that I couldn't say no. With a deep breath, I nodded my assent.

As I made my way down to the maintenance room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of apprehension. What would it be like to work with William? Would he be as strange as everyone said he was?

But as I entered the room, I was greeted by the sight of an animatronic on the table. William was already hard at work, examining the machine with a keen eye.

"This one is Foxy," he said, his voice low and measured. I could tell that he was completely focused on the task at hand.

"Alright, let's get to work. Here's a checklist for you."

He gave me the checklist, and i read from top to bottom.

"Back up controller memory?"

"check"

"brake operation?"

"Check!"

"Teach pendant?"

"Check."

"overtravel limits?"

"Check. Now we have to put him in motion to make sure everything's working properly," William said, flipping a switch on Foxy's control panel.

As Foxy started moving, I watched with bated breath. But something wasn't right. Foxy's movements were jerky and erratic, and it was clear that something was wrong. It was almost like he was panicking.

"Bloody christ..." he scratched his head and looked over at me, slightly irritated. "Could you grab a new battery? There should be three lines on it. yellow, red and green, exactly in that order."

I quickly scanned the room, trying to spot the battery he was talking about. It didn't take me long to find it, and I hurried over to grab it.

"Here you go," I said, handing him the battery. "What do the lines mean?"

William took the battery from me and examined it closely. "Well, the yellow line indicates that the battery is getting low. The red line means that the battery is almost dead, and the green line means that the battery is fully charged."

I nodded, trying to commit the information to memory. "So we need to make sure that the battery is fully charged before we put it in?"

"Exactly," he said, a small smile on his face. "You catch on quick."

"Alright... there we go!, now let's check his audio." He said, dragging out the L.

He pushed a button.

"Ya ha har! never underestimate the cunning of a pirate, or a fox for that matter!"

He let out a breathy chuckle, before pressing the button once more.
