Henry's POV.
I entered the long, dark hallway, sighing harshly. It seemed like accidents always happened here, and today was no exception. I pushed my glasses up and rubbed my eyes while walking, trying to prepare myself for what was to come. I knew I would have to tell all the customers to leave, and the thought of disappointing them made my heart sink.
"Everyone, can I get your attention?" I called out, my voice echoing through the now quiet space. "Unfortunately, an accident has occurred. We are shut for the day."
I could hear multiple kids groaning and crying over the news, and it broke my heart to see their disappointment. As I was about to check if the medics were here, I saw them rushing through the door. "Where is the patient?" they hurriedly asked.
"This way!" I replied, my voice tense with worry. I speed-walked back to my office and opened the door for the medics, my heart racing as I prepared for the worst.
"They gently picked up Aria and rushed back to the ambulance. I watched as Y/N ran out with them, crying, and I quickly got William out of the office and sat down at my desk. I turned on the cameras to check if anyone else was in the building, scanning each room for signs of life.
Looking at the front entrance, I saw someone talking to Y/N. Y/N wiped the tears off her cheek with her wrist, the tears seemingly never stopping. "Oh, what happened?" Lo questioned, staying as calm as they could.
"Y/N sniffled, the tears still rolling down her cheeks. "Aria's dead!"
"I'm so sorry to hear that," Lo replied, their heart aching for Y/N's loss. "Would a hug make you feel better? Or maybe some F/F and F/D?"
Y/N threw herself into the arms of Lo, who wrapped their arms around Y/N, comforting them as much as possible. They picked Y/N up and sat down on a chair with Y/N on their lap, crying their poor heart out. Lo was rocking left and right carefully while rubbing their hand on Y/N's back.
It was touching to see how much Lo cared for Y/N, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for their friendship. They looked like a mother and child, and it was a beautiful sight to see.
I switched to the cameras in parts and service and saw William cleaning up... blood? I shut off the cameras and walked to parts and service, opening the door and slamming it against the wall.
"Why are you cleaning up blood?!" I demanded.
"Who else is gonna do it?" William retorted.
"Fair, but why is there blood here??"
William rolled his eyes. "Because. A bloody corpse has been in this room. Why else?"
William's childish behavior filled my stomach with annoyance. "Stop acting like a teenager. You're 31." William blew a raspberry at me before I noticed the mass amounts of bleach and other liquids on the floor, causing me to furrow my brows.
"Why's there a bunch of bleach on the floor?" I asked, perplexed.
William gave me a side eye. "That's how you clean blood."
"How do you-" I cut myself off, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"I'm not gonna ask." "If you're so equipped to act smart, then how about you clean up this blood??" William spat back at me, exiting the room and slamming the door behind him. "Damn it!" I grabbed the broom that was in the corner of the room and mopped up the bleach, before exiting the room myself.
As I walk down the hallway, two arguing voices seem to ring closer and closer.
"You sent me to the hospital!" one of them spoke.
"You think I fucking knew that?! I would've visited you if Joe didn't ghost me for the days you were in!" the other replied.
"You should think about what you do before you snap my neck with a shoe!" they argued.
I reached around the corner, just barely peeking in. "Lottie Delaney lane! Stop ripping on me because of an accident!"
It was Lo and Y/N arguing. They seemed so close just moments earlier. It's a shame to see them fighting like this.
"You girls calm down. Lo, just quit it," William intervened, walking up to Y/N and pulling her in by the waist. Y/N shot Lo an uncomfortable look.
"That's easy for you to say! You're so in love with her when it's so obvious she doesn't like you!" Lo grabbed Y/N and pulled her away from William, holding her close in a defensive pose.
"Lottie-"
"Oi! You don't have the right to use my full name! Did I see you comforting Y/N after Aria died? No! And quit ogling at Y/N, You Pom!"
"And that's my cue to step in. What's going on here?" I walked out into the main area where the three were fighting.
"Well, you see.. Lottie and Y/N here were quarreling, so I was just trying to step in between them, and Lottie gets all pissy-" Lo cut him off. "That is not what happened!-"
"You all, just quit it. William, I need to talk to you." I walked up to William, grabbing his forearm with a stern grip.
As we entered the hallway once more, William ripped himself from my grip. "What's it now?!"
I didn't answer, I only opened the door and sat William down on the chair before my desk, rounding it and sitting down on my own. I put my hands together, and let out a big sigh. "I'm disappointed in you."
His lips parted slightly, and his eyes went wide in confusion. His eyebrows furrowed, silently telling me to continue.
"You're acting real fuckin' odd." William leaned into the chair, earning a creak. "No I'm-" I cut him off. "First, you know how to clean up blood?"
He fished around in his pocket, pulling out his phone and waving it in my face. "This is the new age." I buried my face in my hands, rubbing it. "Oh my fucking god."
I looked back up at William, seeing him wear his usual snarky shit-eating grin. "Why are you so head-over-heels for Y/N?!" I could feel myself heating up in anger, as he just sat there, his grin growing ever-so wider. "My kids like her. That's why I treat her nicely."
"William. Explain to me why the cops never showed up?"
"They did. They checked out the scene and left. Said they're showing up for questioning tomorrow."
He pulled a lollipop out of his pocket, opening it and stuffing it into his mouth. "William! Quit it, you're not a child!"
I slammed my fists onto the table, huffing loudly. "What? I can't suck on a lollipop now?"
"That's not what i-" I cut myself off, coming back to my senses. "Forget it, just.. Quit acting all freaky."
"I'll try.. I guess."
"Cassidy! What could you possibly be implying?"
"Jeremy.. It's the only approach left." Cassidy sighed, slumping back against the wall. "You know this,"
"Have we really attempted whatever we possibly could? There ought to be a way to not bring this upon the poor girl."
"If we don't act, the girl he cherishes will be the one to pay the price for his misdeeds. Let us be the ones to intervene and prevent her from being caught in his web of darkness."
