15 - Making a Victory Song

Hyunjin arrived at Chan's house along with Minho, Felix, Seungmin, and Jeongin. Minho was kind enough to drive the younger license-less boys, as Jisung and Changbin had already been there for a couple hours.

Upon entering the Bahng residence, they followed the instructions that Chan had sent in the group chat and went down to the basement. 

It was a finished basement like Seungmin's, but half of it was turned into a make-shift studio. Chan, Jisung, and Changbin were sat at a table with various pieces of equipment on and under it. The small soundproof booth in front of them had a microphone and music stand, in which headphones were hung on. 

The boys knew that the trio were making a song, but they didn't realize how serious they were taking it! 

Chan had turned his head towards the stairs upon hearing footsteps, and greeted the five boys with a smile. 

Jisung threw his arms out, exposing his chest as he said, "Welcome to the studio boys!"

"Hyungs, this is really cool!" Jeongin said, eyes sparkling as they looked around the room. 

"This is mostly Chan's doing," Changbin quickly corrected, gesturing towards the eldest. 

"Alright, alright. Everyone take a seat and we'll go through today's plans," Chan announced. 

Minho, Hyunjin, Felix, Seungmin, and Jeongin all found a spot to sit either on the couch behind the studio table, or in the few random chairs that sat around it. 

Chan shuffled around in his chair to face everyone, Jisung and Changbin sitting in the seats next to him at the table. 

"First of all, I want to thank you guys being so supportive and cooperative this past week. We've spent tens of hours on this project, and we're really excited to have you guys take part in it as well. Now, we'll first show a demo version that we whipped up to show you guys what we're going for. Once we've all got a good idea of what's happening, we'll start recording individual parts. We have each part written down for you to read off of."

At this point, Chan started noticing that the room was feeling a bit different. He could tell that the boys were nervous, especially Felix, who he knew was never very confident in his talents. 

To give some encouragement, Chan continued, "I know that this is a lot, and it's very new to everyone. I promise that I'm as nervous as you guys, but I believe in us. I know we can make this awesome, because I know that each one of you are going to slay your parts. Remember, we're a team. No one is going to do anything alone."

Hyunjin turned to look at Felix, who sat stiff next him on the couch. He gently nudged the younger with his shoulder. When Felix looked at him, Hyunjin showed him a smile. The older could physically see Felix's shoulders relax. 

Hyunjin turned back towards Chan, and a moment later, his knee felt warm. He glanced down to see Felix's hand sitting there, which triggered the butterflies in his stomach. 

"There is room for changes if we find that something needs to be changed," Changbin mentioned. 

"Yes, if we've assigned you something that you can't do, please tell us. We don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable. Although, we're pretty confident that we know you guys well enough to give you parts that you'll have no problems with," Jisung added, smirking during the last sentence. 

"I believe that hyungs have prepared an awesome song that screams "Us!"" Jeongin blurted towards the whole group. 

"I agree with Innie," Hyunjin nodded. 

"We're in this together," Minho smiled. 

Chan's eyes sparkled at his friends. He reached out his hand into empty space. Jisung and Changbin were the first to put their hands on top of Chan's.
