"Sister, we have visitors." The papa knocked on the door then walked in. The three of us awkwardly stood in the hall still wondering If we should go in. The papa noticed this and used his hands to rush us in.
"Copia who are they?" An old woman from behind the desk asked. The three of us still holding our equipment however my hands were completely full because I was still holding the camera.
"Would you three like to explain?" The man asked nervously.
"Um, hello ma'am, I'm Spencer and this is Riley and (Y/n). We are ghost hunters and on our last mission we believe we went through a portal and wound up here." Spencer explained to the woman behind the counter who now had a invested look on her face instead of a annoyed one.
"We also think a demon hurt (Y/n)." Riley spoke up. She then looked over at me.
"How did they hurt you?" She asked me her hands were now crossed and she was resting her chin on them.
"It scratched me a- and the wound won't close." I stuttered a bit. I wasn't good with talking to people, especially people of higher status.
"Are you bleeding?" She asked now laying her hands on the desk. I nodded. "We will take you to the hospital wing." She stood up and walked out from behind the desk. "In the meantime, Copia you can show the gentleman where they will be staying till we find out how to get them home. I will take (Y/n) to the hospital wing." She told papa. I felt my hands go sweaty and a slight pain in my chest. I can't leave them, not when I still barely know what is happening right now. I could see Spencer and Riley also stiffen at this and I felt a bit better knowing that I wasn't the only one feeling this way.
"Not to be rude sister but I don't think that it is the best idea to separate them right now." Papa pointed out and I felt a wave of relief flood over me.
"Would you be more comfortable with your friends with you?" She turned to ask me.
"I would like that." I nodded.
"Very well, I'll take you three to the hospital wing." She concluded and we all followed her out of the room like she was a grade school teacher. I was in the front of the line so I couldn't see Spencer and Riley but I turned my head when I heard Riley snickering. Spencer was walking in front of him with a finger pressed to his lips and a peace sign in the air, indicating the "quiet sign." The helmet was held between his chest and elbow. I shook my head with a quiet laugh as I turned to face the woman in front of me.
We made our way to the hospital wing and into a small white room with a cot on the right corner of the room. It was bright in here compared to the rest of the church and smelled of rubbing alcohol.
"Miss Davis, I have a patient for you." A woman that was in a small closet that was in the room quickly popped her head out and smiled.
"What seems to be the problem?" She asked walking over, I felt like I was a kid with my mom at the doctors office by the way I was standing next to her.
"Our new guest has an issue on her chest." She explained to Miss Davis.
"Okay, come sit on the bed I'll get you looked at." She smiled and pointed to the cot in the corner. I went over and took a seat on the rough cloth. "What seems to be bothering you." She asked in a warm tone but it also felt like she was talking down to me like a child.
"I have a scratching and burning pain on my chest." I explained.
"And when did this start?"
"Uh, about a hour and a half ago."
"Do you know what caused this."
"We are pretty sure it was a demon." Spencer spoke up for me from by the door.
"A demon? Why do you think that?"
"We are ghost hunters and the place we went to is known to be a portal for demons." Spencer continued.
"Is there even a portal around here,- you know besides the one here?" The doctor asked Imperator.
"They went through the portal and wound up here." She explained to the doctor who had yet to look at my injury. I could see the gears turning in her head.
"So you guys aren't from around here?"
"Nope." I said.
"Where are you from?" She asked looking at the two boys.
"Uh, New York." Riley spoke up, I could see their eyes squint in confusion.
"Where is that?"
"In the United States?" Spencer said with a sort of concerned tone.
How do they not know where this place is?
"Are you telling me that we can't just take a plane back home?!" Riley asked a little panicked.
"Check your phone!" Spencer said urgently to Riley. He then took it out only to see the time go all wonky and constantly changing.
"Are we dreaming?" I asked. I've always been told that if I was dreaming but didn't know I should check the time because it would be all out of wack.
"I didn't know that dreams could have a multi player option." Spencer laughed out.
"True, your phone is probably broken from the portal." I concluded to myself.
"Can I see your injury?" Miss Davis asked me breaking up our conversation. I began to remove the go-pro harness and put it to the side of me. I moved the collar of my shirt down but it didn't stretch down far enough. "Can you remove your shirt?" She asked me noticing my struggle.
"Yeah, sure." I mumbled and removed my bloody sweater.I was only in a bra so the cold air bit at my skin. My chest had scratches all over it and was all bloody.
"For free?!" Spencer laughed out as a joke. He got some glares from the two other women in the room but I started laughing as it eased the awkward situation.
"Would you like them to step out of the room while I assess what's going on?" The doctor asked with concern in her voice.
"No they can stay." I smiled at her. She got some rubbing alcohol and wiped it over the cut and I felt the sting of it linger more then it normally would. She took an ointment from the cabinet and applied it to my skin. I immediately felt relief as all the pain felt as if it evaporated from me.
"How does that feel?" She asked me.
"So much better, thank you." I smiled at her then put my sweater back on.
"It been a while since we used it, there hasn't been any ghoul attacks in a long time." She held up the bottle then put it back.
"Ghouls?" We all asked at the same time.
"You don't know what ghouls are?"
"No, we didn't have ghouls back in the city." Riley chuckled a bit, we could all tell he's nervous.
"Why does that ointment only help with ghoul scratches?" Spencer asked in the skeptical voice he always has.
"Ghouls are demonic creatures, so it has stuff in here to help with any demonic energy that may be lingering in the wound."
"You said that there hasn't been attacks in awhile, do they live here?" Spencer asked.
"They do." Imperator spoke up. "They help around the church, it's why they were sent up here." She explained. There was a silents that fell on the room as the three of us processed the information that we were given. "I will take the three of you to your rooms now. I'll get Papa to take you two gentleman to the male rooms and I'll take you to the female rooms." She explained. The three of us looked at each other clearly all thinking if this was a good idea. After about thirty seconds we nodded knowing that we might as well stay.
"Alright, I guess that will work." Spencer shrugged.
"Wonderful, let's get you set up!" She clapped her hands together.
