Jisoo slowly pulled away and Jennie watched her warm hands drift off her face.
Jennie felt a pang of sadness when Jisoo pulled away to lean her back against Jennie's desk. She let out a sigh and closed her eyes with a small swallow of her throat.
Jennie sat close enough to the older girl to feel comforted but she kept a few inches of distance between them.
The brunette leaned her head back against the desk and looked at Jisoo. Her savior. Her guardian.
"How long have you had anxiety?" Jisoo asked softly before adding, "You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."
Jennie looked at the cool planes of her face. Her closed eyes. Her small, straight nose. Her flushed cheeks. Her heart shaped lips. The sweat slowly coming down her face from her worrying.
"I've had it since 10th grade."
Jisoo's eyes blinked open and she turned her face towards her.
Jennie looked at her hands and fiddled with her pant. "School started to get stressful from that time onwards and I didn't....I didn't know how to cope. My mom tried but she wasn't a person who understood me. My father..." Jennie chuckled. "My father was actually the one to get me a doctor. He found a specialist and got me on medication as soon as I had my first panic attack."
Jisoo nodded while listening.
Jennie kept fiddling as she continued, "But I also found out that it was because he needed me to run the company. He couldn't have his daughter show fault when he already didn't have a son. It...that was the moment I knew I would never meet my dad's expectations and just did the best I could and accepted whatever praise or punishment I got."
Jisoo slowly laid her hand on Jennie's anxious ones. Jennie's head shot up to look at Jisoo who was giving a sympathetic smile.
Jennie needed to change the topic. "So....how did you know how to stop an anxiety attack?"
Her face heated as she remembered Jisoo's kiss.
Jisoo nodded slowly and said quietly, "I had a friend in high school who had frequent anxiety attacks. I did research back then and...I helped her focus on something who get her mind off it. Make her laugh." Jisoo chuckled.
Jennie felt a wave of jealousy she didn't want to have but she still asked, "Did you always..." Jennie's cheeks burned red.
The raven's eyes widened. "NO! Never! I-I...yours was so sudden! I just did what came to mind!"
Jennie raised an eyebrow skeptically. The first thing that came to her mind was to kiss me....?
Jisoo quickly stood up and was blushing furiously. "You are misunderstanding me! I-I didn't mean it...in that sense!"
Normally Jennie would've tortured her but she shrugged and said, "Okay."
Jisoo placed her hands on her hips with a smirk. "You were messing with me right?"
Jennie slowly stood up and patted herself down. She smiled at Jisoo. "Sure. That's what friends are for."
The younger girl thought she saw a wave of hurt flash across Jisoo's face but the raven just smiled.
She brought Jennie into a bone-crushing hug and said across the shell of her ear, "Be careful."
Jennie chuckled but she felt desire rush through her body at Jisoo's warm breath. She wrapped her arms around Jisoo's waist and rested her chin on the raven's shoulder. If possible Jennie would never leave the older girl's embrace.
