Mr.Kim drove Jisoo back to the hotel and said, "I expect to see you at work on Monday."

Jisoo nodded with a smile and walked up the long staircase. She walked through the lobby and checked back in. The lobby lady gave her a conspiratorial smile as if she knew Jisoo was going to come back. Jisoo returned it with a warm one.

She walked off with her keys to the same room back in her hands. She pressed the button for the elevator and stepped in when it opened. Jisoo stood to the back of it with her duffel bag on her shoulder. She pressed the 10th floor and waited silently as it took her up.

She checked the time on her phone and it was almost 11pm. She wondered if Jennie went back to the party or she stayed in her apartment.

The image of her running to Jisoo's door and standing on the balcony immediately came to mind. Jisoo felt horrible because she knew Jennie was probably heartbroken by Jisoo's reaction to her confession....or incredibly mad.

The elevator dinged and Jisoo stepped out to see Jennie on her way down the hallway, looking at her phone. She was wearing jeans and cropped shirt with her long brown overcoat. Her dark brown hair messed up and....there wasn't a red eye in sight.

"Jennie!" Jisoo shouted before dropping her duffel bag. Jennie's head shot up and her expression remained calm and she turn around to walk back. Jisoo widened her eyes and followed after her at an almost running pace.

"Jennie!....Jennie! Stop! Wait!" Jennie continued to walk and take turns down the hallways. "Jennie, let me explain!" Jisoo shouted again. She picked up her pace and saw Jennie entering her apartment.

She ran to hold the door open. "Jennie, listen! Wait—" but it shut with a loud slam in her face. Her head smacked into the door and Jisoo groaned loudly. "Arghh!" She rubbed her forehead.

She looked back at the door and knocked twice. She didn't hear anything and sighed. She turned back around to get her duffel bag and put everything behind her.

........................

On Monday, Jennie avoided Jisoo and Jisoo did the same because she was a coward. After their last confrontation, Jisoo was very much afraid to approach Jennie because it was obvious she was mad and not the least but heartbroken.

But it didn't stop there. Jisoo found out that Jennie loved to express her anger in different ways, like the many mindless tasks that Jennie had made her do in the beginning, except the ones during the week were more....humiliating.

On Monday-Wednesday, she made Jisoo speak through the door and installed a door slot so that she can give her files. Jisoo didn't see Jennie once,w chin she couldn't figure out because Jisoo was always the first person in work and the last one to leave. She had been hoping to spare a glance at her but she wasn't even afforded that much luxury.

On Thursday, she found her desk trashed. Like completely. All drawers open. Files and papers lining the floor around her desk. And when she asked Rosé for help, the blonde gave her a sympathetic smile and told her she didn't see any papers. Jisoo got the meaning.

On Friday, Jennie spilled water on her shirt when Jisoo smiled and told her good morning after she was finally allowed into her office. Jennie literally stood up, dumped water on her shirt and left. Jisoo had stood there and accepted it. She deserved it anyways. She had to call Lisa to get her a new shirt and when she explained what happened, Lisa cackled and hung up. So she was stuck with that all day and when she came in the afternoon she could see Jennie stifling a smile at her predicament.

And Jisoo's heart melted. Like whipped cream in sun because Jisoo finally understood her feelings:

She was completely whipped for Jennie Kim.

..........................................

That Saturday, Jennie had a meeting for an interview with a business magazine. Jisoo had been required to go with Jennie to a fancy office with a lounge. The lounge was pretty and she sat diagonally a few meters from Jennie and the person interviewing her.

"Hi, it's so nice to meet you Miss Kim!" The writer smiled and shook Jennie's hand. The brunette gave a small smile and nodded.

The writer sat down with a small notebook in hand and a recorder. She started recording and asked, "Can I have your consent to record this interview?"

Jennie said in a crisp tone. "Yes."

"Ok, cool! So my first question is a simple one: why did you choose to get into this industry?"

Jennie smiled. "I'm always asked that question. Is is because I'm a woman?"

The writer smiled back. "Yes! I'm actually very much inspired by you!" She held her pen and notepad eagerly and Jisoo smiled at Jennie's taken aback expression.

"T-thank you..." Jennie cleared her throat. "I mostly got into this because I had a strong foundation from my father and I knew I could build up on it from there. I was basically given all the chess pieces on a board and now I have to call checkmate over my opponents." Jisoo smiled it was short and to the point. Impressive.

The writer quickly noted it down and said, "Perfect lead into our next question! Who do you feel are your competitors?"

Jennie hesitated before saying, "I think anyone I don't trust or feels that they can mess with me are all my competitors." Jisoo almost physically winced. That barb was aimed at her.

The writer smiled and wrote it down. "Good one!"

She proceeded to ask a few more questions about the company and Jennie's work before saying that she needed a picture of Jennie.

Jennie sat back and straightened herself with her leg crossed over while the writer pulled out a very professional looking camera.

Jisoo watched Jennie become a rigid statue as she looked into the camera. Showing none of the caring and sensual person she had been with Jisoo.

"Do you think you can soften your stance a bit? It's coming a bit stand-offish..."

Jisoo almost laughed. That was how she had been all week.

She leaned her head on he hand and watched Jennie struggle to give a less formal pose while the writer look sympathetic.

Finally Jisoo couldn't handle it. She walked over to Jennie, who's expression immediately closed off.

Jisoo placed her hands on Jennie's shoulders and pushed her back into the seat gently. Jennie glared at her but Jisoo pretended not to notice. She patted Jennie's gray skirt down and carefully held Jennie's leg to put it over her knee. She saw Jennie'a skin trace goosebumps wherever she touched her.

So you aren't as mad as I thought, my Jennie.

Jisoo placed her hands on Jennie's hips and the brunette gasped silently so only Jisoo heard it. The raven smirked at her boss who was blushing under Jisoo's gaze.

Jisoo pushed her hips back in line with the chair and lifted her hands to rest against her knee in a loose state.

Jennie peered up at her with furious yet questioning eyes. Jisoo turned to the reporter. "All good?"

"Perfect! Smile!" She held the camera up.

Jennie gave a relaxed, close-lipped smile and the camera clicked.

The writer smiled, thanked Jennie and Jisoo before leaving.

Jisoo looked at Jennie who held her gaze for a second and pulled away. But not before Jisoo caught the look there.

It had reflected the longing in her heart too.

Jennie glanced back and it was as if everything in the world disappeared and it was the two of them.

Oh how I wish you hadn't been engaged when I came back....I wish...I wish...

I wish I didn't run away the first time.
