"Uhh, gods it hurts," Theo mumbled as he became conscious. He felt like his body was still on fire. He opened his eyes and saw the blue sky trees above and heard the gentle lapping of the waves.
"Is this Elysium?" He mumbled to himself, his throat feeling as dry as the Sahara. "Fortunately for you, it is not, young hero." A melodious voice replied to him.
The son of Poseidon immediately jerked his head towards the voice as his hand went to his trouser pocket in search of his blade. But the sudden movement caused pain to shoot up his body, causing him to grimace.
"Easy there, demigod," a soothing voice said, drawing his attention. A beautiful girl with caramel-colored hair stepped into view, her eyes warm but firm. "You're not fully healed yet." She said.
"Here drink this" She offered him a glass of water. He hesitated momentarily, then took the glass, feeling the cool water slide down his parched throat and soothing his aching body ever so slightly.
"Who are you? Where am I?" he asked, trying to sit up. But the girl stopped him. " Rest now, hero. You are safe," she told him, pressing his body to the soft mattress. Soon, he fell back into the realm of Morpheus.
The next time Thro woke up, a sweet voice was singing a lullaby. The demigod opened his eyes feeling much more refreshed and energized. He gently sat up on the mattress and saw the caramel-haired girl from earlier singing to herself and taking care of the plants in the room. Seeing that he was not dead yet, he decided that she was not an enemy.
"Where am I? Who are you?" He rasped out, gaining the attention of the girl. "Oh, you are awake? Don't worry young hero, I am not going to harm you." She said turning towards him.
"I am Calypso and you are at Ogygia." She said answering his question as she walked to his side. Theo sat up on his bed and leaned on the wall behind him. "Um, where exactly is this Ogygia?" "How far is it from Long Island?" Theo rasped out.
Calypso giggled at that question like he just cracked a joke. " Ogygia is my phantom island. It is everywhere and nowhere. I do not know about this Long Island that you asked about I can assure you that you will be safe here." She told him, causing the demigod to have a confused look on his face.
"So how long was I out?" He asked awkwardly. He didn't understand what the pretty girl said about the island being anywhere and nowhere, but decided to not ask about it so that she wouldn't think he was stupid"
"Time is a foreign concept to me now. In front of eternity one will eventually loose grasp of time." She said in a sad tone. "But you have been here for four dawns if that what you mean". She told him." You came out of nowhere and crashed into the sea. Somehow the sea cushioned your fall and ever since I have been taking care of you."
"Damn." Theo mumbled, his body still feeling sore. He tried to climb out of the bed only to loose balance and stumble. He would have face planted, if not for the titaness who quickly caught him.
"Easy there Theseus" The titaness said as she helped him walk across the room. 'How do you know my name?" he asked, looking at her doubtfully. "You talk in your sleep "she replied causing the demigod to blush.
Calypso guided Theo out of the cave like house towards the beach where a Table and bench was set. Atop the table was food of all variety. There was fresh fruits, vegetables, steak, pancakes, chicken and fresh juice. "Eat Theo and take rest. It will help you recover fast. The titaness told him. "
Without wasting another second, the demigod scrambled over to the table, devouring the food as if he hadn't eaten in days—which, to be fair, was true. "Slow down, Theseus. You don't need to inhale it," the titaness said, sitting beside him. Theo nodded, chewing more deliberately before swallowing.
