Chapter 3: The Raid

Timeline= chapter 35 of manga

"Look, Yoo Jin-Ho. What's all this?" said Sung Jinwoo while looking at the participants of the raid.

"What do you mean, 'All This'? They're our teammates for today!

Those who have a hunter's license but can't attend raids due to various reasons, those who are struggling in life because of various reasons were drafted into our team. There are also some who came here for a quick cash grab."

'So they are injured, alcoholics, and underaged?' Thought Sung Jinwoo.

"Is a kid even allowed to do raids?"

"If an underaged kid is awakened, then there's no law banning them from raids."

"Kid? That's rude. I'm a full-fledged hunter." Said the kid.

"You're a high-schooler, right? Do you have any raid experience?"

"N...none."

"E rank, I assume? Well, it's okay. You don't have to follow me into the dungeon-Just wait outside. Only Jin-Ho and I will go in."

"We weren't allowed to attempt the C rank dungeon with just the thre... Two of us, so that's why we brought you guys as well. By law, a C rank raid needs 10 people." Said Yoo Jin-Ho.

The rest of the group were confused and surprised. They were wondering if those two are strong enough to clear the dungeon.

"Um... Will you really giving 3,000,000 won to each of us even when we stay outside?" asked one of the participants.

"Yes, of course. 3 million won per raid for each of you. Pretty Darn good deal, considering that you don't have to lift a finger. All you have to do is wait for us outside until we finish. However, you must not tell anyone what you've seen or heard here. If you do, you must pay back 10 times as much as you earned-It's all written in the contract you've signed."

"But you know, I've been wondering...What the hell are you wearing?" said Sung Jinwoo while looking at the samurai styled full plate armor Yoo Jin-ho was wearing.

"It's a full set of hardened armor made in an Italian artisan guild. If we're going to raid with just the three of us, shouldn't I prepare at least this much?"

Sung Jinwoo point his finger at Yoo Jinho's chest plate and pushed. That slight push was all it took for him to loss balance and fall. The armor was probable build for higher ranked hunter because it's weight was enough to make it almost impossible for him to move.

"Just take off the armor when I'm asking you nicely."

"Yes...Brother, please help me up."

Sung Jinwoo was annoyed but he complied.

"Alright! Let's get going brother! I'm nervous..." said Yoo Jinho after removing all the armor except the helmet.

Sung Jinwoo was about to ask him to remove the helmet as well but decide to ignore it instead.

After entering the dungeon they saw Randall standing inside wearing a similar armor to the one Jinho was wearing but lighter and more flexible. He carried a dragon crest shield on one hand and Pyromancy Flame on the other. He also had Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring and Ring of the Evil Eye on his fingers. He entered the dungeon while they were talking to the other participants.

Sung Jinwoo sensed something intense for the Ring of the Evil Eye and thought, 'Is that an artifact. I can feel its powerful, I wonder what it does.'

"So, how are we going to do this?" asked Randall

"You protect Jinho and I will clear the dungeon."

"Warrior, I would prefer to play a more active role as I am in need of souls."

"Souls? what's that?"

"Its something every living being has. The stronger the soul the more powerful they are. I need them to strengthen myself."

'Is this something spiritual or is he... talking about leveling up? He said he needs to kill monster to get stronger doesn't that sound a bit too similar to level ups? And get stronger! Does he also have a system?' Jinwoo now gain interest in Randall.

During the raid Randall only used fireballs. After every 8 spells he runs back to the entrance where the bonfire is located and returns. The other two found that weird but didn't say anything. However Jinwoo noticed Randall's aura growing stronger with each time he returns from the entrance.

'He definitely has a system but it seems to be a bit more restrictive then mine.' Jinwoo thought.

After they finished that raid they did 2 more before sunset.
