Chapter 7: The shadow army

Randall removed his clothing from the upper body to treat his arm. He tied the arm to a stick to prevent movement and then tied that to his chest with the help of others.

"Where are you going?" said Randall to Jinwoo as he was leaving.

"Hunting."

"I will come with you."

"In this condition?"

"I can heal all these injuries if you let me kill a few bears."

"Fine, follow me."

The two of them traveled together quietly until they reached the cave. Then Randall suddenly started running towards the entrance of that cave. He run with such force that his damaged leg broke near the ankle but that didn't slow Randall down. He now ran on all 3 for his usable limbs.

"What are you doing?!" said Jinwoo

"It's a bonfire!"

And then Randall stopped right in front of the cave filled with Ice Bears. The next moment all his injuries healed in an instant.

'So that's a bonfire. If a bonfire can do this no wonder he was so desperate to get to one.' thought Jinwoo.

Then the bears started exiting the cave. A bear stood right in front of Randall and then it roared ready to attack with its claws but then its face exploded leaving a burned face with no lower or upper jaw, it's snout was gone. Randall now in his human form killed that bear with another soul arrow.

Randall the started firing Homing Soulmass in repeat. 5 orbs hit the bears at Randall's front each time he casted the spell pushing the bears back. The sight of glowing blue orbs flying everywhere was beautiful.

Jinwoo joined the fun with his shadow army, he ordered his solder to not harm Randall. Randall heard the noise that came from the shadow army rushing to the battle and fired a soul arrow at them assuming they were the enemies. The soul arrow didn't just hurt the shadow infantry but destroyed it completely. However the other shadows didn't reacted to Randall and just went around him, that is when Randall realized they were following Jinwoo.

After that both fought together, Randall firing from behind while the shadows fight at the front.

After the battle was over Randall understood the difference in power between him and Jinwoo is massive. He no longer felt it would be appropriate to raid with him until he grows stronger.

'The bears Randall killed didn't turn into shadow monsters and his magic can permanently kill my shadows. Then there is the amount of damage those spell can do and the healing effects of the bonfire. Randall is definitely going to win if we fight now.' thought Jinwoo.

Few days later, The A rank hunter came back and the Ice elf army follow behind him.

Randall have been hunting a lot recently in order to get stronger. He was returning from the bonfire after repairing his armor and leveling up his stat when he saw Jinwoo slice an Ice elf's head off. Randall prepared his weapons and rushed to help Jinwoo.

After Jinwoo and the elf king exchanged blows the elf king said,

"I have a proposal. It won't be detrimental to you."

As the elf king said that he noticed Randall prepared to fire his spells at the back and smiled in an uncomforting way.

"But first, let me ask you two a question." said the elf king while point his knife at Randall.

"Despite not being humans, why are you two among the humans?"

"What the hell are you talking about?" said Jinwoo.

"Ha-ha, are you not aware of it? In our heads, there's a constant voice speaking to us. To kill humans. But I cannot hear the voice in ether of your presence. There's no need for us to fight. We do not want unnecessary casualties in our end. Hand over the humans behind you. Then I'll spare both your lif" The elf king was interrupted by a soul arrow which he blocked with his knifes.

"No damage?" said Randall.

"Do the two off you plan on fighting me and my soldiers? Do you think the two of you can withstand our numbers by yourselves?"

"Numbers? What numbers?" said Jinwoo before raising his shadow army.

The appearance of those shadow bears, shadow infantry, shadow mage, the giant shadow bear and Igris greatly scared the group.

"What a cheap trick." said the elf king.

"Is it a cheap trick?"

Then the two armies launched at each other.
