Chapter 17: S-rank Gate

"Randall. We felt the presence of the 2 monsters disappear so we came. Did we win?" asked the guild master of white tiger. But then he noticed Jinwoo's body with 5 holes in his chest and he understood what happened.

Everyone soon gathered around Jinwoo's body and silently watched Randall grieving his friends death in silence.

"I promise your loved ones will be taken care of. You can rest..." as Randall was saying this Jinwoo opened his eyes.

"Where is the beast monarch? Did he run away?" said Jinwoo as he stood up.

Everyone was stunned. The guild leaders thought, 'Does he also not die like Randall?'.

"I thought you died." said Randall as he wiped his tears.

"Well I didn't. Now tell me what happened." said Jinwoo.

"Both of the monsters are dead. That beast's reckless charge at you cost him his life." said Randall.

Jinwoo was a little disappointed that he didn't get to kill them himself but he didn't let that show. He thanked Randall for his help and left. Randall talked with the S-rank hunters and cleared the rumors about him.

"So you are saying that girl you killed was a spy placed by the Association? How did you know?" said the guild master of White Tiger Guild.

"I have a spell that can detect lies. I can use it on you as proof if you like."

They then tried it out and sure enough it prevented them from telling lies.

"Even then that gave it away. You wouldn't use it on you partner without any reason right?"

"I caught her on a date with some other guy. I thought she was cheating on me but when I ask she wouldn't admit. So I used this to force the truth out."

"And that's when you found out about the spy thing."

"Yes."

After that the person responsible was arrested and sentenced to 'life imprisonment'. The Association also give a public explanation about the incident. They clamed that the Association never agreed to this and the person responsible was acting on their own.

Few days later.

The people have already forgotten about the incident with Randall because the massive Gate in the sky was about to open. Hunters from around the world gathered to defend against the monsters that would came out of the gate.

Jinwoo and Randall stood at the front wait for the gate to open and it did but what came out of it was a shadow army. Multiple creatures came out of the gate including 3 dragons and all of them looked very similar to Jinwoo's shadow solders.

As the hunter were about to attack Jinwoo stopped them. Those monsters in the sky turned out to be Jinwoo's summons.

No battle took place that day. Randall and Jinwoo disappeared later that day to an unknown Island to prepare for war.
