Chapter 5: Rescue Mission

The next day, Randall was clearing dungeons alone and having a really hard time. He died a few time as well but he managed to retrive his lost souls each time so it was fine. Because he only had a few spell uses he bought himself few hundred high quality arrow through Jinho and used them with his +3 short bow. But he ran out of those too which caused him to fall back to his rapier resulting in him dying more frecuntly.

But Jinwoo wasn't have a better time ether. Fighting against the Knights in his job class change dungeon was very exhausting. The endless hordes of enemies didn't give him any time to rest ether. But he managed to pull through and defeat Blood-Red Commander Igris. After that he earned the job class 'Shadow Lord' and turned Igris into his subordinate.

The difference in strength between the two was only growing bigger.

The next day, Randall was suppose to clear 2 dungeons but couldn't because the underaged girl backed out last moment. She said Jinwoo was going to train her. Randall was angered because of not finding any new spells the last 2 raids and he can't enter any dungeons today. His anger intensified.

He asked Jinho to contact Jinwoo and convince him of letting her raid today as finding a new participant for the raids is going to take time. In the process of doing that he discovered the RED gate situation. Randall and Jinho immediately rushed to the spot after hearing the news.

Upon reaching the Red gate Randall stood right in front of it passing the White Tiger guild master and Dong-Su, 2 S-ranks and few others.

"What do you think you are doing? If someone you know is inside then start praying because they aren't coming back." said Dong-Su.

Randall didn't respond and instead pulled a Cracked Red Eye Orb and used it to enter the Red gate.

This surprised everyone. Then all the eyes went to Jinho who came with Randall. Jinho felt chills down his spine from the intense glare he received.

After Randall entered or should I say invaded the gate he rested at the bonfire.

{Don't ask how an invader can rest at the bonfire. Consider it artistic liberty.}

He spent all his souls in leveling his intelligence and he also used a humanity to kindle the bonfire. Then he started searching for clues to located Jinwoo. He found footprints on the snow leading to 2 different direction, one set went into the forest and the other into the open field.

Randall decides to follow the one leading to the open field. After about an hours of running he finds corpses of 4 Ice bears. As he was investigating the site an arrow hit him on the back. It was Ice elves.

The armor he wore was high quality and it stopped the arrow. Randall pulled his short bow and fired at the 3 elves. It misses by few inches, the ice elves fired back. Out of the 3 arrows fired 1 slipped through the gaps of the armor. This was a losing battle for Randall so he equipped his shield and started running into the forest.

The 3 elves were chasing him while firing arrows and laughing but then Randall turned around holding a Sorcerer's Catalyst in his right hand and fired a soul arrow. The elf tried to dodge it but the arrow followed him so as a last option he blocked it with his hands. The arrow landed knocking the elf of the tree onto the snow, his arms blown apart and face in horrible condition. He lost his eyes, nose and a lot of facial skin but he was alive and breathing.

The other 2 elves fired arrows at Randall out of rage but Randall blocked it and fired another soul arrow. The elf hide behind a tree as he now knows the amount of damage those do. The soul arrow after making contact with the tree blew a huge chunk out. That elf continued firing from cover while the other one tried to sneak up on Randall. Randall saw the elf trying to sneak up on him and fire a soul arrow but the elf ducked causing the soul arrow to miss.

Now Randall was busy blocking the elf's while the other one was rapidly closing the distance. Randall knew he would loss in a 1vs2 melee fight so he launched a soul arrow at the one running toward him giving the other elf an opening which he took and stabbed Randall in the chest. As Randall was turning into dust he saw the soul arrow had blown the elf's head off and that made him smile.

"One more left" said Randall as he started moving back to the place he died from the bonfire.
