Chosen Undead in Solo Leveling

Chapter 6: Reunited

After a long walk Randall reached the place where he last fought. He collected his souls from the bloodstain and started following the blood trail. After 10 mins of walking he could see the elf that killed him dragging his dead friends through the snow.

The elf had a rage filled expression and tears building up in the eyes as he pulled the lifeless corpse of his friends. As he heard the noise of someone firing a soul arrow, a noise he is now familiar with, he jumped to the side but he was too late. The soul arrow hit his leg and blew it to bits.

The elf tried to run but couldn't as he saw the person who fired the soul arrow.

"HOW?! I killed you!" said the elf in a language Randall couldn't understand. And then another soul arrow blew his head off.

Randall noticed a scroll near the elf corpse. It was the spell Homing Soulmass. Randall took it and started following the trail of footsteps again.

After half an hour, as he was walk an yeti jumped out of the trees and grabbed Randall, then he threw him into the forest. The yeti threw him so high that he arced over the tall trees. He would have died from the fall but thanks to the branches and snow he survived.

He drank an Estus flask and almost immediately his broken legs and other injuries healed. But before he could stand the yeti rushed in and threw a punch which Randall luckily blocked with his shield but even then he got lunched many meters back.

After 20 minutes he was standing in front of a headless Yeti corpse with not remaining spell uses or Estus flasks. He was injured and both his armor and shield were in poor condition. He was also lost as the fight with the yeti moved him deep into the forest.

For hours he walk but couldn't find anything until he noticed the smoke. He then walk towards the direction of the smoke hoping to find help.

Jinwoo was eating bear meat with the kid and few others around the fire when an undead showed up. The undead' s right arm was broken and it had a limp in his steps. It wore damaged armor and a shield in his left hand with a crest similar to Randall's. It also wore the Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring on his finger.

"Wh-What is that?" said a C rank tank.

"What's an undead doing here?" said the B rank mage.

Jinwoo felt a familiar yet strong aura coming from the undead. He walked closer to the undead while gesturing the group to relax and said, "Randall?"

"Jinwoo?"

The group was confused.

"It's a pleasure seeing you my friend." said Randall.

"Do you know him? how is he?" asked the B rank mage.

"I know him. He is a friend."

'He is friends with an Undead?' thought the group.

Randall sat near the fire now wearing a winter coats like the others. His injuries remained as the potions Jinwoo gave didn't work on him and there was no bonfire nearby.

The remaining members of the group were looking at Randall with curiosity but didn't asked him any questions yet. As Randall was wondering if he should introduce himself to them or not, Jinwoo returned from his exercise.

"Now tell me what happened."

"It was a yeti." Randall said.

"Isn't that an A rank monster?" said a C ranker.

"It certainly was powerful, took everything I had to kill that beast."

"You killed a yeti alone, a monster even A ranked hunters struggle against?" ask the B rank mage in surprise.

As soon as the others heard the difficulty of his accomplishment they started looking at him with respect.

"That explains the injuries but what about the undead look?" said Jinwoo.

"This is my hollow form. I couldn't change back to human form as I lost all the humanity in the fight with Ice elves and didn't had extra."

"You fought Ice elves too?" said another C rank.

"3 of them at once but it wasn't an easy victory. They killed me once."

Everyone went quite after hearing that. Even Jinwoo didn't know what to say.

'Is resurrection on of his abilities or is it his system? Does this mean he can't die? No, after one death his body now looks like this and he also mentioned something about humanity being lost so its no without consequence.' thought Jinwoo

"And how long will it take before you turn back to human?"

"I can turn back the moment I find a bonfire."

"Is this not one?" said Jinwoo while gesturing to the campfire.

"No, This isn't a bonfire. Will you escort me to the entrance?"

"Why the entrance?"

"There is a bonfire near the entrance."

"But we didn't see any bonfires near the entrance on our way here." said the B rank mage.

"Yes, only I am able to see it for some reason." said Randall.

"I can't take you there now. I can't leave them defenseless."

"I understand, it was foolish of me for asking but could you at least show me the way?"

"Are you planning to go alone in this condition?" said a C rank.

"I won't be of any assistance as I am now. I need to return to a bonfire."

"Rest for tonight, I will escort you to the entrance after sunrise." said Jinwoo.
