TW: Blood, drinking, mentions of smoking

I tried to find the book as soon as possible, and I found it in a locked cabinet that was hidden in the wall. I grabbed it then went to find Mattheo. I found him in a dark hallway, pushing Theodore up against the wall, whose face was covered in blood. It took a lot not to faint at the sight and the smell. Mattheo's eyes were black and I could tell he was burning Theodore. I went and hit him across the head with the book. Mattheo fell to the floor and Theodore would have as well if I hadn't used my magic to keep him upright. "Are you ok? What happened?"

"I'm alive and that's all that matters" He said out of breath before his eyes closed and his head fell back against the wall.

I apparated them to Mattheo's door and healed them the best I could but I wasn't as good as Thomas or Mattheo.

I lied on my bed for an hour before I heard Mattheo. I got up and went over to his bed, his eyes had returned to their normal color and he sat up "How did
I get here?" He looked over and saw Theodore "What happened?"

I sighed "I apparated you guys up and you did that" I looked away "Someone must of put something in your drink or spelled you"

"Yeah, wouldn't be the first" He put his hand on his head "But it didn't feel like it did last time" He paused, his face scrunched up as if remembering something "It was like... all of a sudden everything seemed to switch, and all I wanted was to hurt people-" He looked down "this violence just consumed me" A frown grew on his face "and I could see everything happening, I could control myself, and yet I chose to give in"

"Yeah, it sounds different then before" I replied

He ran his hand through his hair and stopped when he reached the back of his head "You know you hit me pretty bad, I'm surprised it only left me with a bruise and a headache. What did you use?"

"A book" I answer

He raised his eyebrows for a second before nodding "Makes sense"

"Yeah sorry, it was the first thing that popped into my head"

"No it's ok, I was hurting Theo, I deserve it" he looked back down

I sat down next to him "How are you feeling now, with the spell or whatever it was"

"I can still feel it, the violence, the need, it's there" He glanced at my face "And it's really hard to control"

A second later Mattheo was gone, he was trying to be as far away from me as possible.

A couple minutes later Theo woke up and I explained everything to him before he went to his dorm. I went back to my dorm and flipped through the black leather book to find anything that could help me kill Malachi, but I flipped through page after page and found nothing until I reached the end of the book and slammed it shut in frustration. There had to be something I could do, some spell I could cast to take away his power and to put an end to him once and for all. I clenched my fists and a glass of water on my nightstand broke, pulling me out of my thoughts. I took a second to calm myself before looking at my hands and then to the glass, and with a wave of my hand, the glass was gone.

I looked through the book again, in case I missed anything, but I still didn't see anything and my frustration only grew. It was getting to be really late but I didn't care, I didn't have classes tomorrow so why did it matter? What mattered was that I was never going to be able to kill Malachi, I was never going to know peace or happiness again. I grabbed a bottle of firewhisky and stepped out onto my balcony, finishing it within a couple minutes. And then another one, and another, and another, until I was out of bottles. I still wanted more though. I still had a thousand thoughts spiraling in my head, a thousand voices telling me what to do, and I just wanted to drown them all out.

I apparated to the Astronomy tower and found Theo drinking as well "Got anymore bottles?" I asked

He turned to face me and looked me up and down, almost judgmentally before he sighed "I'm guessing you have already had enuff tonight" He glared at me "Why do you need more?"

"I haven't had enuff, I can still hear all my thoughts, I want them to go away"

"What are your thoughts saying?" He asked

"I can't kill Malachi, and I will never again know happiness or peace"

He looked down "Circe..." He started "Drinking is not good in large amounts, especially at your age"

I scoffed, "You decided to tell me this now?" I smiled a little bit "It's too late for that, and besides you do it too"

"Yeah I do" He admitted "But I have like three, four, five bottles a week, you have three, four, five bottles in one day"

"Yeah but it's not every day" I protested

"Your body is physically not made to have that much alcohol in one night, you need to spread it out over days, not minutes"

"You smoke, every day, that's worse than drinking" She argued

"I used to, I have been trying to cut back on it" He looked away

"And yet it smells suspiciously and strongly of cigarettes"

"I said trying, it takes a while to completely stop" He raised his voice a little bit then looked down then out to the school grounds, a frown forming on his face.

"Fine, you're not in the mood" I stepped backward and apparated back to my dorm.

Before I could even take a step I was grabbed and pushed into the wall, a hand around my neck. I looked up to find Malachi's eyes glaring back at me. I frowned "I think you have something I need" He tightened his grip "Where is the book?" When I didn't answer he tilted his head "I will only ask one more time before I resort to other- lets just say, less pleasant means. Where is the book?"

"I-" I could barely speak "I don't know"

"But I think you do, you got it the other day, it was why you were in your brothers room" He smirked "If you wanted to learn dark magic you could have just asked, I would had been more than happy to help, but now-" He pulled his wand out put it against my head "well, you will just have to see" His smile grew and he muttered something under his breath before I could feel my mind slipping. He eyed me before he called out to someone else who must had been there as well "Check the floorboards under the rug" He called out and I could hear them moving the rug before they called out

"It's sealed with magic" Called out a familiar voice and Malachi turned his head around and cast a spell on the floorboards and they opened before he turned back to me. "Found it" They called out again.

"Bring it to me" Malachi ordered and I heard footsteps coming closer until Enzo appeared next to him with the black leather book in his hand. Malachi eyed the book before nodding at it and turning back to me "Your coming with me"

Before I even had time to think everything turned to black.
