TW: Mentions of death, daggers, blood
(Still Theodore's pov)
As soon as we got back to the dorm Circe pushed away and ran into the bathroom. She was standing in front of the mirror, and her hands were shaking. Mattheo slowly approached the bathroom "Circe are you ok?"
"I told you we should have left before he woke up but you didn't listen" She shouted in a sudden burst of anger. As she turned to face us we saw that her eyes were different colors. One eye was black and the other was red. She started blinking fast and her head jerked to the side as if she had been slapped but nothing had touched her. She blinked a couple more times and her eyes were back to normal. She put her hand up and caught herself as she fell sideways into the doorframe. I went to help her but she held up her hand to stop me "Don't touch me" She said softly.
"What's wrong?" Mattheo asked
"The dark magic" She explained turning around to block her face "I'm fine... It's fine"
"Are you sure?"
She turned back around and smiled "Yeah, I'm fine" Then she disappeared.
(Circe's Pov)
I skipped the rest of my classes and instead decided to wander through the hallways until I reached the Hospital Wing. I wasn't planning on going in but something pulled me to the door and I pushed the door open. The nurse glanced at me as I stepped into the room and after seeing I didn't need any help she pointed to a bed surrounded by a curtain in the back. I approached the bed and pulled back the curtain slightly to see Nicholas lying in the bed. He was very pale and I could sense dark magic around him probably from the spell Thomas used on him. His eyes suddenly fluttered open and immediately landed on me. "What are you doing here" He asked, sounding a bit scared
"I don't know, just checking to see if you were dead I guess" I shrugged "What did Thomas do to you?"
He frowned "I don't know, but it was very dark magic, and it hurt– a lot"
"What did Thomas look like when you saw him?"
"He looked completely emotionless. Pitch black eyes, his hair looked darker, everything about him looked darker" He tried to sit up but winced and fell back down. The dark aura was becoming more and more harder to ignore so I took a step back.
"Well, bye" I quickly pulled the curtain shut and turned away, leaving the Hospital Wing seconds later.
I went to dinner shortly after and then went to bed. Tomorrow is the dance.
I was suddenly back at our house, in Thomas's room. He was pacing around the room and I was by the window. There was barely any dark magic in the air now and I wondered how that was possible. Thomas stopped pacing and turned to look at me "Your back" He commented
"Apparently" I frowned. No matter what I tried I could leave the room. I took a couple steps closer to him "Why am I here?"
"I don't know, but I'm glad you are" A small smirk appeared on his face "It's time you... embrace the darkness, like I have" He reached into his back pocket and pulled out the pendent.
"No" I took a step back but he took a step towards me. I kept trying to get as far away from him as possible but my back suddenly hit the wall next to the window. I tried to break the glass but it was no use, his window had a spell put on it so the glass wouldn't break after a small incident that happened when we were younger that ended up in someone being pushed out the window and dying after the fall from the height.
Thomas was suddenly right in front of me and I tried to flatten myself against the wall. He grabbed my hand and pressed the pendent into my palm, closing his hand around mine so I couldn't drop it. Since I was still wearing the bracelet, I wasn't siphoning the magic but it still filled the air around me and started weakening and breaking through my magic. I suddenly heard a voice calling my name but I couldn't see anyone, then a thought stuck my mind. I slowly reached and grabbed my dagger and stabbed him in the shoulder then I kicked him back and threw the pendent away, the dagger still in my hand. Then I felt two invisible hands on my shoulders that pulled me up and a second later I was sitting on my bed while Theodore, and Indu were looking at me, concerned. "Circe?" Mattheo was next to me, holding my shoulder, his glowing green eyes faded back to hazel. I pushed his hand off.
