(Mattheo's pov)
Ever since I almost died yesterday everything has been weird. My skin was still very pale, my heart kept feeling like it was beating too fast and at the same time it felt like someone was trying to rip it out of my chest, my eyesight has been coming and going, and my senses haven't recovered yet from what they once were. I feel like I got the worst of it all, sure Thomas was not acting normal but it seemed like it was more mental harm than physical for him, and Circe seemed a little shaken but otherwise she seemed like she was almost back to normal. Maybe this is how my father planned it, he always hated me the most. I should probably go back to the hospital wing to get more help but someone I got into a fight with a couple months ago was in the hospital wing and he still was angry at me, so I didn't want him to try and do anything to me while I was in this state. While a lot of my senses had been dulled, other ones hadn't, which made them all the more annoying, my hearing being one of them.
At breakfast I felt like I could hear everyone's voice swarming around in my head, the sound of silverware and plates clattering filled the room. I just wanted to stay in my dorm but Theodore didn't want me to be alone while he went and grabbed breakfast for me, and Circe and Indu were occupied with something so Theodore ended up pulling me down to the Great Hall. "Mattheo" Theodore called softly beside me. I took a second to blink out of my thoughts but when I did I realized the fork I was holding was getting really hot. My full powers haven't returned yet so luckily there was no fire, otherwise that would have been hard to cover up. I placed the fork down and turned my head slightly to look at him. He glanced quickly down at my plate then back up to me, probably checking how much I ate I thought. "You want to go back to the dorm?" He asked
"Sure" I replied sluggishly. I caught the glance of one of my old friends, I had broken away from my old friend group, and they gave me weird looks every once in a while but it didn't bother me. I pushed myself up off the table after Theodore and we walked out of the Great Hall together. The second we were in a safe enough spot Theodore apparated us to the dorm. I immediately went to lay on my bed and Theodore laid down next to me, looking into my eyes, he looked like he was going to say something but thought otherwise at the last moment. I rolled onto my back and looked up at the ceiling. The bed was super comfy all of a sudden with faint light shining through the lake and into the window. It was silent except for the sound of light breathing and slight sounds of water. I wanted to stay here forever, in this peaceful, cozy, almost- paradise. Theodore's hand brushed mine and I slowly clasped it in my hand. We just sat there and I started to fall asleep.
A little while later Theodore nudged me awake "Sorry, but we have class. We should probably freshen up and head down soon"
(Theodore's pov)
Mattheo nodded his head slightly and got up, trudging across the room to get his stuff together. Soon after we went down for charms class.
Throughout the class I could tell something wasn't right with Mattheo. I knew that he was still suffering effects from almost dying and the loss of a decent amount of his magic, but it seemed to only be getting worse. I could hear his quiet shallow breaths becoming quicker beside me. I glanced at him as he swallowed and his eyes seemed to become unfocused. "I- I need to get out of here" He whispered so only I could hear. I quickly packed up our stuff with the wave of my wand then helped him up using magic to support him. "I'm not feeling good professor" I explained as I slightly pushed Mattheo through the door "Sorry" I commented, both to the professor and Mattheo.
"Oh, well I hope you feel better soon Mr. Nott, maybe check in with the Hospital Wing"
