TW: Mentions of death, mentions of hurting, negative thoughts

(Circe's pov)

I made sure Mattheo got back to his room then I went back to my room and layed in my bed. I wanted to talk to Thomas again, but I didn't know how. I tried to just think about him and a second later I was in a different room.

I couldn't see much, the only source of light was a dim candle on the nightstand. Thomas was pacing in front of me, he looked worse than before. His face showed a lack of sleep and he was running his fingers through his already messed up hair. I was not used to seeing him like this.

A second later he realized he was not alone and his eyes snapped up to meet mine. He frowned when he saw it was me "Why are you here again?"

"Are you ok?"

"I'm fine" His tone was colder than I had ever heard it before and he stepped away, closer to the nightstand.

In the light I could see his skin was almost pale "Thomas you're not ok, you look horrible"

"I'm fine" He affirmed again

He took a couple steps then fell to the floor. I rushed to his side and tried to help him up while he tried to push me away. When I touched him I could feel that most of his magic was gone. "Is Malachi taking your magic?" I asked

"I am" Malachi's voice came from the doorway. "But what are you going to do about it?" He took a couple steps into the room and glared at me "How did you get in here?"

After I remained quiet for a couple of seconds he hit me with a spell that sent me into the wall.

He was about to hit me with another spell when Thomas went in front of me "Go" He shouted, putting a piece of crumpled paper in my hand and pushing me away.

I sat up in my bed with the piece of paper still in my hand. I suddenly heard his voice in my head. He wasn't directly talking to me but I heard him talking to someone who I guessed was Thomas. I heard him laugh and Thomas cry out in pain. I tried to cover my ears but of course it didn't work. Mattheo I called out in my mind for him and a second later he appeared at my side.

(Mattheo's pov)

She had her knees to her chest and her hands over her ears. I touched her hand and instantly heard everything she heard. Malachi and Thomas. I pulled away, I didn't know how to help her. I touched her again and tried to get into her mind. Hey Circe, it's me, it's ok. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes. Then she screamed, causing a couple objects in the room to go flying. I grabbed her and hugged her. After a couple of seconds she hugged my back and started crying into my shoulder.

She pulled away and I saw her face stained red from crying as her eyes looked at my face then down to my arm were her face filled with concern. I glanced down at my arm to see I had been cut. Probably from one of the things that she broke. I had been too concentrated on her, I didn't even feel it. More tears formed in her eyes as she came to the same conclusion "I'm sorry" She turned away but I softly touched her shoulder and turned her so I could see her face.

"Hey, it's ok, I'm fine" I quickly healed it with my hand "See, I'm completely fine"

"No, no, no I hurt you, I'm the reason Thomas is being tortured, I'm the reason for every bad thing that has ever happened"

"You'r-"

"No" She cut me off "Don't tell me I'm not the reason, because I always am. I am the reason Dominique came to this school, I am the reason so many people are dead, I am the reason Malachi is doing this to us all, he's obsessed with hurting me, hurting all of us, I'm the reason"

"Circe stop" I looked her in the eyes "We are all to blame for this, including father, he is the main reason for all of this"

"Thomas is going to die because of me"

"No, he's not"

"You can't promise that"

(Thomas's pov)

Malachi had me pinned to the wall, his wand pushed into my neck "How did she get in here?" He shouted

"I don't know" I replied honestly

"Don't you dare lie to me" His wand pushed deeper into my neck.

Someone appeared in the doorway "If you push him anymore he will be of no use" I recognized the voice as Enzo's "And what good is that?" His voice sounded casual, as if he was talking about the weather.

Annoyance filled Malachi's voice as he turned away from me "Tell me you have news and aren't just wasting my time"

"It's ready" He replied and left with a nod of his head

Malachi stood silent for a second before a smirk appeared on his face and he turned to me "You break the rules one more time or if I see her here..." He paused "The deal will be off and I would hate for things to come to that"

He glared at me for a second longer, letting his words sink in before turning away and disappearing into the darkness outside the doorway.

I let out the breath I had been holding and slowly made my way to my bed. My left leg hurt and I healed it the best I could. I looked at myself in the mirror across the room. I barely recognize myself anymore. What had Circe thought when she saw me, when I acted the way I did? She only wanted to help.

I grabbed a book from the side table and before I even thought about it I tossed it across the room, the mirror broke and fell to the floor in pieces. A tear slipped down my cheek before I wiped it away and collected myself. No one could see me like this. Not Mattheo, or Theodore. Not father or any of his followers. And especially not Circe.
