(Mattheos pov)
I got up and left the Great Hall, the others followed me. Since everyone else was at Breakfast we went through the common room to her and Indu's dorm. When we entered the dorm Circe was still asleep but a second later she woke up and glanced at us. "What are you all doing here?" She asked as she made her way to the bathroom.
"Circe, Be honest. Did you kill two 7th year students this morning?" I questioned
She stopped in the doorway to the bathroom and turned her head to glance at us then she glanced away and to the ground, taking a second to reply. "Yes" She replied and frowned and it seemed like she wanted to say something else but when she opened her mouth to speak again she closed it a couple seconds later and stepped into the bathroom, closing the door behind her. I told the others to go and I would meet up with them in the Slytherin common room in a bit. Indu went to sit on her bed.
A couple minutes later Circe came out of the bathroom "You're still here?" She asked
"Yeah, It looked like you had more to say" I replied
Indu got up and stepped out on the balcony, giving us space. Circe looked down "It's nothing"
"No, it's not nothing, I can see it in your eyes"
"Ok, I guess there is more-" She paused "I don't know if you will believe me, or even if I believe myself when I say that the students deaths were an accident- It was weird, like I had no intent of doing that but I did- I killed two completely innocent students" tears started to form in her eyes and she looked down "I just want to be alone right now" She whispered
"Are you going to be ok?" I asked
She nodded her head silently "I am going to try my best to stop siphoning, maybe that will help"
"If you ever need help, don't be afraid to ask" I commented before I left
Over the course of the week it seemed like she was getting better. She spent a lot of time in the library and seemed to be doing well in her classes. By the time February came around she was a lot better. I didn't fail to notice the new braided leather bracelet she wore and when I asked her about it she said she'd had it for a while but never wore it.
It was a day before valentines day so the potions professor decided to teach us how to make Amortentia. Theo was next to me in the back of the room as always and we talked a little bit while we brewed the potions. I had to help him with a couple steps but it didn't bother me. The next time we had potions class the amortentia was ready. We all sat at our desks and there was one big potion at the front of the class. The second he took the lid off the potion there was a strong scent that filled the room. Firewhisky, the smell of the forest- just after it rained, a hint of smoke, and a very very faint smell of books. My lips turned up a little bit, I knew who it was.
"I am going to call you up one by one and you are going to tell me what you smell" The professor claimed
A student raised their hand and the professor called on them "Isn't that like invading our personal space or something? Your basically asking us to stand in front of the whole class and tell them who we have a crush on"
It was a good point and I glanced back at the professor to see how he was going to reply "Would you rather have a detention?"
(Theodore's pov)
I saw Mattheo's lips form a straight line and he raised his eyebrows at the professor's response then we looked back at the student who sunk back into their seat "How about you go first" He called them up to the front of the class.
