Evelyn sat on a grassy knoll overlooking an Eliksni encampment. House Dusk, by the look of it. They'd gotten their hands on a pair of Brigs and painted them with their favorite color. Nolan appeared over Eves' shoulder, glaring at the camp.
Nolan; "... And you're sure you don't wanna test the munitions Thot'gor gave us?"
Evelyn; "I don't wanna risk those Brigs going nuclear: I'm gonna have to vaporize them myself."
Nolan; "Alright... I'll keep the ship on standby."
He disappeared as Eves' helmet transmatted onto her head and she stood, drawing her Fighting Lion from behind her back. She approached the camp with her arms outstretched.
Evelyn; "VELAASK!"
The closest Dreg looked up at her at growled quietly as the rest of the camp turned her way.
Evelyn; "I understand you guys got some new toys! Can't help but notice they're pretty fragile looking!"
A captain at the rear began approaching, drawing an Arc Sword.
Captain; "What do you mean, "fragile"?"
Eve; "Oh, I don't know... Probably couldn't survive a Nova Warp."
She teleported past in a whirl of Void light, and the Captain called out as a Void explosion erupted near one of the Brigs, disintegrating it except for the right gun.
Captain; "Stop them!"
Eve blinked closer, twice, before being socked in the face by a Vandal, knocking her off balance, giving the Captain time to close the distance and impale Evelyn through the neck with his sword. The Void light faded and she went limp.
The Captain stood there a moment in shock, withdrawing his blade and letting the Exo go limp. He chuckled nervously, gaining more confidence as his laughter picked up. The other Eliksni began laughing as well, and the Captain hurled the dead Guardian away from the camp with all his strength.
When night fell, Nolan appeared with a sigh.
Nolan; "It's always the ones you don't see."
He began glowing as his shell expanding, before rapidly collapsing inward with a wave of Light. The camp turned on their lights and shone it over where Eve had been thrown, but she wasn't there.
The Captain emerged from his tent with a growl, brandishing a Wire Rifle.
Captain; "Come out, little light... Are you as brave as your companion?"
Eve; "No, but he's definitely smarter."
The Captain whipped around to see Eve inside his camp, holding a stave of dark blue crystal. The Captain prepared to fire a shot, but Eve slammed the staff into the ground, releasing a shockwave of Stasis that froze the entire camp. The Captain was left motionless as Evelyn sidestepped around him, walked close to the other brig and threw her Stasis staff like a spear, shattering the machine like pottery. A deep hum was then heard as her ship flew in overhead, she transmatted away, and the ship flew off into the night.
It took almost two minutes for the rest of the camp to thaw, and the Captain breathed heavily as he looked at the remains of the Brigs. Dropping to his knees, a Dreg approached, looking on with despair.
Dreg; "... Why didn't she kill us? Why only kill machines?"
Captain; "... I don't know..."
