Evelyns' ship flew into the Courtyard of the Tower, passing over the balcony and transmatting in Evelyn at the edge of the loading ramp. Transmatting in beside her was Nimbus, the chrome nanomachine matter of their frame glistening in the light. They looked around the Tower with mouth agape, hands hanging at their side as they walked behind Evelyn.
Eve; "I know it's nothing like Neomuna, but I still think it's pretty impressive."
Nimbus; "Oh, it absolutely is! Considering all you had was ruins and leftovers, this is pretty homey! *Love* the colors you got going on here; really contrasts the drab concrete."
Eve; "Oh, this isn't everyday stuff, hun; it's for Guardian Games! Think of it like... E-sports, like in the Thrilladrome, but in real life."
Nimbus; "Oh, sweet! What do you win?"
Evelyn walked with Nimbus under the balcony, the latter nearly striking their head on an exposed I-beam, but ducked down just in time.
Eve; "Eva hands out weapons for the Guardians to use. She had a buttload of different ones orderd that have different accessories or functionalities, and randomly hands them out."
Nimbus raised an eyebrow crossing their arms as they leaned against a supporting strut of Rahools' post.
Nimbus; "That's pretty neat! Definitely sounds like something a Warlord would like... No offense, by the-"
They were interrupted by the post collapsing against their weight, causing the tarp to fall down on top of Rahool. Once Nimbus regained their footing, they'd see Rahool standing with the awning over them, letting out a frustrated sigh.
Nimbus; "Sorry."
Eve gestured for Nimbus to follow her hastily, and they did so, nervously clasping their hands in front of their waist. The pair would approach an old woman, Eva, who was handing out an Omolon scout rifle to a Warlock in Iron Lord armor. She looked to Eve with a quiet gasp, craning her neck to look up at Nimbus before turning back to the Exo.
.
Eva; "Hello, dear... Who's your friend there?"Eve; "Eva, this is Nimbus. They're from Neptune!"
Nimbus held out their hand for a handshake, letting out a quiet chuckle.
Nimbus; "Heh, you kinda remind me of Quinn from back home."
Eva hesitantly shook their hand, a smile steadily growing on her face.
Eva; "Pleasured to meet you, Nimbus! I don't mean to be rude, but... Why are you so big?"
Nimbus; "Oh, I'm a Cloud Strider! We got tech built into our bodies, so we can keepthe people of Neomuna safe."
Eva; "Oh, like a Guardian!"
Nimbus; "Yeah, but we get cool nanotech!"
Nimbus laughed as they straightened their posture, and Eva looked the Cloud Strider up and down.
Eva; "And you're so thin... Do they feed you over there, young man?"
Nimbus looked down to their body and put a hand on their stomach with a raised eyebrow.
Eve; "Oh, Eva... Nimbus is, uh, non-binary. They're not male or female."
Eva; "Oh? How do I call for him, then?"
Eve; "You say they or them... Think of it like, um... Oh, remember how we went birdwatching a week ago?"
Eva nodded, maintaining a soft smile.
Eve; "Pretend you're referring to that same flock of pigeons when talking to Nimbus."
Eva; "Oh! Ok..."
She took a pause, looking at Nimbus again, whom had their arms crossed over their chest.
Eva; "Well, dear, you never answered my question; are you hungry? I have some cookies if you need something in your tummy."
Nimbus knelt down so they were at eye level with Eva, smiling wide.
Nimbus; "I mean... I'm not hungry, but oat-meal doesn't sound all that bad."
Eva reached for a bag on the table behind her, pulling out a pair of oatmeal raisin cookies, handing one to Nimbus and holding out the other for Eve. Evelyn used the Strand Grapple to pull it to herself as Nimbus swallowed theirs in one bite.
Nimbus; "Wow, those are small but... They're good!"
Eva; "Make sure you're eating enough, Nimby; old Eva wants to see you stay a big, strong... Human."
Nimbus; "Yes, ma'am!"
