Destiny shorts; Revenant Edition

SFW; Eve and Penny

Penny sits on the edge of the landing pad in the Annex, gently swaying her feet. Eliksni were helping Frames clean up the Festival of the Lost decorations in the background, one of the Eliksni catching a Frame before it could wander off the edge. Penny was staring out at the city with a somewhat somber expression, the moon starting to dip below the horizon as she hummed gently to herself. She turned around when she heard the sound of footsteps on the metal plate centered on the landing pad; it was Evelyn, hands clasped in front of her abdomen.

Penny; "Velask, Chief."

Eve; "Evening, hun... You can call me Eve, I'm not your boss."

She came to the Hunters' left and took a seat on the edge, resting her elbows on her knees as she looked out on the horizon with Penny.

Eve; "What brings you over here?"

Penny; "Niiliks went back to the Botza District... I was missing him, so I came up here to watch the ships go past."

Eve; "Oh, right, him... Haven't spoken to him in a while."

Evelyn chuckled a little before turning to look at Penny.

Eve; "You're really smitten with him?"

Penny; "You could say that, yeah... I think he feels the same way."

Eve; "Oh, good! Good..."

The Warlock turned away again, and Penny slowly leaned forward to look at her shortly after.

Penny; "Why... are you down here? Did you need something of me?"

Eve fluttered her eyes before swallowing a knot in her throat, responding with ragged voice at first.

Eve; "We haven't really spoken since that day in my office... The day you told me you knew what happened."

She turned to look at Penny. Had she lips, she would've pursed them.

Eve; "... I just wanna know if you're... Upset with me, I guess."

Penny pulled her legs up from over the landing pad to sit cross legged, resting a hand on Eves' back.

Penny; "I don't hate you for it, Evelyn. I have a boyfriend I love, I have a job I like, and I... I, have purpose. I made my own fate, just like I said I would. If you didn't do what you did, I wouldn't be here. How you did it is... Questionable. But I owe you my life as much as I owe it to Misraakskel for training me."

Penny gently pat Eves' back a couple times.

Penny; "But don't think it makes you a bad person. You're one of the sweetest Guardians I've ever known... Like an older sister."

She then moved in to hug Evelyn, catching the Warlock off guard, before she hesitantly returned the gesture, giving the Hunter a tight embrace with closed eyes.

Eve; "... Like a sister."
