"ENOUGH." Professor Hecat boomed, stepping swiftly in front of a broken boy and casting the Boggart quickly back into the cabinet, slamming the door tight before it could shift again. She pulled her cloak around Sebastian's body, shielding him from sight and ordered everyone to leave. Class dismissed for the day.

Ominis didn't even pull out his wand or wait for me to help guide him. He walked quickly forward, bumping into students as they scurried out of the classroom. When he reached Sebastian's side, Professor Hecat took a step away and gave me a worried look. Ominis knelt down carefully, pressed his hands against his friend's arm and trailed them down to find his hands, wrapping them in his and whispering gently.

"It's not real Sebastian. It's not real."

The scariest part was that Sebastian wasn't crying. He was staring blankly at the worn wood of the classroom where the Boggart of Anne had been only moments before.

The occasional flare of his nose the only evidence of his breathing.

His throat bobbed and I watched his eyes. Deep brown, heavy with haze. A glaze so strong I was sure the tears would fall at any moment.

But they didn't.

His jaw twitched, his forehead creased with the weight of his brows. The micro movements of his face quivered.

I watched as the boy before me shifted through pain to something far deeper. Something firm and intent.

Slowly, his gaze lifted from the ground, paused on his friend's emotion torn face and then drifted up to mine.

The pain of the universe

in his eyes.

And his lips turned ever so slightly

upward

He smiled softly at me- sad, kind, hopeful, determined, insistent, pleading.

"I'm going to save her."

"I know." I mouthed the words.
