Sebastian spent the next hour pressed close to me as often as he could. The warmth of his body felt as familiar as my own skin by the time I had finished drinking the next goblet.

We now sat opposite a few other Slytherin students near a deep flaming fireplace. Ominis had claimed the end chair for himself while Sebastian and I sat hips side by side on the little couch. Every so often he would reach his hand out in my direction to catch my attention, asking if I was doing alright to which I would assure him happily that I was having a wonderful time.

The two Slytherin boys in front of us were chatting excitedly about a guest that had brought some extra exciting potions. I tried to follow but my mind was swimming with glowing goblet liquid and was thick as mud.

I felt the silk of my dress slip against my ankles as something warm pressed against my knee and shifted the fabric there. Through hazy eyes I noticed Sebastian's fingers tracing the folds of my dress smiling to himself. I could feel the goosebumps as they ran over my thigh and Sebastian could hear the shift in my breathing, his eyes glancing up to mine.

My heart sparked in my chest as his eyes dropped to my lips and he repositioned his weight so that he could lean into me.

Slowly.

Breathy.

Smirking.

"Sallow. Sallow?"

His lips stopped right before mine, breath trickling down my neck as he groaned and pulled away sharply. "What."

A small boy hesitated at the back of the couch dressed in large mittens and a headband with two circles on either side. He wrung his hands in front of his body uneasily. Blinking, I recognised his curly brown hair and bright eyes despite his missing Gryffindor robes.

Sebastian's shoulders righted and his brows creased upwards, soothing his tone. "Sorry Lucan. What is it?"

The boy quickly dipped his hand over the back of the couch and dropped a small envelope into Sebastian's lap. "Oscar dropped this on his way out of the clock tower courtyard earlier, its got your name on it."

Sebastian's forehead creased as he turned the envelope over in his palms and thumbed over the wax seal. "Thank's Lucan."

The boy nodded before his eyes shifted to me. He smiled sadly and dipped his head, trailing off into the darkness.

"Who's Oscar?"

Sebastian's lips had pressed together and he tore quickly at the envelope.

"Owl." His clipped answer splashed against my ears, rolling through the mud of my mind.

I blinked a bit of the fog away at his sudden shift in energy and peered curiously into his lap.

The room was still shifting so I couldn't make out the words but was rather impressed with the writing. The lines were perfectly spaced, straight and uniform. Whoever wrote it must have had a steady hand.

I was knocked from my thoughts as Sebastian nearly jumped off the couch, side table squealing as his hip bumped it and he darted off into the darkness.

I shoved the fabric of my dress up and out of the way of my feet as I hurried after him, heart pounding in shock.

I was just able to catch sight of his double brimmed hat as it ducked through a door a couple paces down. A boy painted from head to toe in skeleton makeup nearly tripped right in front of me as he laughed back over his shoulder to a girl in red who was chasing him quickly. I pressed past them, noticing the door was now shut tight.
